HOW I ENDED UP AT UVM!
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hey everybody, my name is lulu and I'm a student at U. V. M. I'm originally from the suburbs of Chicago Illinois and if you know the area to be a little more specific, I'm from Geneva, which is about 40 minutes from the city. Currently I am recording this video from the suburbs of Chicago as I'm home for the summer. This upcoming year I will be living in an apartment in downtown Burlington, which I'm super excited for. It's about a 10 minute walk from campus and it'll be my first year living off campus. I'm a rising sophomore at UVM and I am studying human development and family studies in the College of Education and social services along with that being my major, I also have a double minor in psychological sciences and philosophy and what brought me to this point, well, I applied to U. V. M. Kind of on a limb because for some reason the East Coast was calling my name, I didn't really know where I was going to end up, but I knew it was somewhere on the East Coast and that's why I originally applied and I actually made the decision to go there after I had a fantastic tour. The tour really led me to see the sense of community and togetherness that the campus has and that's kind of how I got to this point of being a UVM students. So if you have the chance, I highly recommend a tour because it really gives you a sense of what the campus is like and what you're going to be getting yourself into when you go there, who you'll be living with, who these people could be, who will become your future friends. It's a really encouraging and super supportive environment that's really based on collaboration and not competition, which is something that I really love, the subject that I have enjoyed most so far. If you couldn't tell by my majors and minors, I really enjoyed learning about the social sciences and kind of any class that will give me more insight into why people are the way that they are, why people react the way they do and just kind of insights to the human mind is really where my interest lies. UVM would definitely be students who as I mentioned, are really community based and like having a super supportive system around them and enjoy collaboration and group work and supporting other students, not only in academics, but also outside of academics and really just students who I don't want to be alone. Kind of because I know a lot of colleges, especially competitive schools, strive on how um competitive they are really and competitiveness is not always a good environment for everyone and UVM is quite the opposite. They are not about competition, they're really about supporting your learning. When I say that, I mean the students and the professors, the professors want you to learn and they want you to thrive and so did the other students. So that's really why I love you VM. And why I think you would love it too.
