Samantha: Why I Chose UOP
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hi, I'm Samantha, and I'm a graduate student at the University of the Pacific. I'm originally from Pembroke Pines, Florida, and today I'll talk about why I chose UOP When I was younger, I played soccer and I knew I wanted to work with athletes. One day I was at a soccer tournament and I saw an athletic trainer working under the tent treating athletes. And I walked up to him and I asked, "What are you doing?" and "Why are you doing this?" And he basically told me all about athletic training and what it took to become an athletic trainer and the education that he needed. So from that day forward, I knew I wanted to be an athletic trainer. Fast forward a couple of years, and I got my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and I was getting tired of Florida. It's just very humid. My hair just goes mmm. I wanted to get out and live somewhere new and I thought, "Why not move to California?" So I decided to go to the University of the Pacific to get my Masters degree in Athletic Training. Not only is the weather really nice, but I've had the opportunity to go on so many adventures. Since I've been here, I have been able to go hiking at Yosemite., snowboarding at Mount Shasta, and ziplining at Rocklin, all while taking classes at UOP I hope you'll get to experience just as many fun adventures here at the University of the Pacific.
