What I Love About University of Redlands with Briana
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hi, I'm Brianna Beristain, I go by she her hers pronouns and I'm a third year student here at the University of Redlands. I loved the sense of community and it just felt like home. There's so many little touches that just make it feel like we're connected. Another thing I really love about our campus is our live mascot addy, just the cutest bulldog and she's such a diva at the University of Redlands. I especially feel supported by faculty, especially my academic advisor. Everyone gets an academic advisor within their department and I love mine dr andrews. I know I can email her for anything like stop in the hallway to ask her questions and I know that she would advocate for me if I needed it because I've seen her do it for other students. I know that the faculty and my advisor specifically as well as professors, I'm really close to like my flu teacher. I know that they would advocate for me if I needed it and I know that they would help me find whatever resources it is that I need. I also think a lot of professors put a huge emphasis on mental health, especially post pandemic and during the pandemic and that I think really speaks to the culture that we have on campus here. So it's just a kind of connection that I don't think you can get at many schools, especially at bigger schools on top of everything that I loved about the university. It also was a school that gave me the most financial aid. It was already number one and then it just, it had no competition. So one of my favorite things about what I'm currently doing at the university is sigma alpha iota. It's a music fraternity for women that we have nationally, but we have our chapter here on campus. I'm currently the vice president of membership of our chapter and I just love this group of caring people who all love music. It's just a really nice environment to be in kind of speaks to that collaborative spirit. A lot of music programs can be really cutthroat and we are not like that at all. We're all always trying to help each other and especially within this, the sisterhood.
