The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Basically just wanted to do a little film school Q and A because I was inspired by Scarlet Rose Turner, who recently did a film school Q and A. She was dropping university. She's a very different experience of form school. So I wouldn't come here and give us a little insight to film school at the University of Miami if you are considering you, um um, considering from school, but yeah, let's just get started. I will say, I didn't initially, like, choose to go to film school. I came in schools Electronic Media Major, which is in the school communications, and our film school is our cinematic. It's the cinema and interactive media department is within the school of communication, so It's not like a traditional like film school like one of L. A schools like Chapman or Ellen, You or us. We have a pretty good school communication, but it's like very much because of broadcasting like Amazing Broadcast Program. I wouldn't say that like you was the best films out there, But I will say that I'm very happy with my decision to attend to you on, and I was 100% make it again. So I wasn't sure about going to school for that because that's like a big, bold statement to make. Like, I'm gonna be an actor and I'm gonna go to school to do act. It involves a lot then they're definitely thinks that you learned in acting school, but that's the talk for it. Gonna film schools want you to send in, like, supplement like a video. Then just like that time, I was like, really stressed and overwhelmed, just like I did not want to do that. So you almost really exciting to me because I was like, I'm applying did school feeding Asians when Applies and Electronic Media Major. I guess that means that you're not necessary to get the best of the best, as if that matters because, like you're in school to learn. Um, and at the end of the day, I think it was the best place for me because I really came into school like not knowing much about film other than the fact that I loved it. I take in one film plots in high school and kind of hated it. Absolutely so basically joining that dramatic art fraternity really just like let me end like the film community, like not just the film community at you on, but that like film community of like hard core look, undergraduate film makers who are like super passionate about what they're doing. So often I could do one of these again, Uh, what I'm like further anti women that honors for the school of communication, and I'm a foot fellow on a scholar at U M. So that means I don't have to take any general education, and we have, like a company to run around under general education program. I think I was pretty solidly like needed everyone to home school, even though I didn't apply directly. She was a college around because it's always been kind of look, I want, like a small private school in like that was just the thing. Like, it was really super rigorous, um, little school in New York City and we did a lot of hard work, basically, like to get into college like that just kind of always plan to a college. In terms of like pursuing film school are going straight into film. For the most part, I really just didn't know that much about filming, like, didn't know what it meant to be on a set. So it's been really helpful to me, and it's really nice to do it in, like, sort of a low seek setting. It's just like, Well, that's extremely duty, and later you mean so that has a nice for me, and I think it's really made me work. You never made me more confident in my abilities so going to films like The Garrison Mandy's like So We're Not Competitive, I know like some of the major film schools. We're like everyone's willing to teach you what you don't know and yeah, so that's why I'm so happy that I am going home school inside, just like jumping into home industry, because I think it's hard if you don't already have that confidence. For students who do take Jenna courses, I'm pretty sure you can still take like, at least one course your freshman year, because regardless of your gender heads, they're like requirements from specific school that you're in. Our productions will now sort of starting but I'm working on three films, this fund, So I've been on quite a bit. I think the hardest part of films at U. N. Is that not like challenging another schools. I would say if you want to get the most out of your education, like, you have to be the one pushing yourself to do that So you have to really take control in charge of your education, just something that I love, which is one reason why I'm so attracted to you and I'm not on set all the time because I have to be on set like I had one of the film does. Like the other films that I'm working on, like I'm assistant director one because I just like it's a movie new school, And I want to learn a lot from people who are like doing the other parts of it, because just really interesting to me. What's hard about film school is it's different from other schools. I'm not saying it's as hardest med school or anything, but it's hard in a different way because I feel like a lot of people were in med school are in, like other schools, best in school, whatever they're like struggling now. Like the thing is, film schooling isn't like that difficult, especially after technically, it's not that difficult. Like once you get out of film school, you got quite a bit to go before you actually make it. As I said, I give you owns like crows about going to film school. You can totally get there without going from school. You know what else you guys want to see? You want to see more about Like what film schools like? Because I can do more videos on that? Um, yeah.
