Marching Band & Beyond: Getting Involved at UD with Lindsay

Another thing I love about you doing something that has kind of helped me through my four years here is just all the different ways that you can get involved on campus. One of my roommates convinced me my sophomore year to join marching band, which was something I never thought I would ever do. It was a terrifying thought for me, but she kept poking me in the side and saying, come on, you're gonna love it, you're gonna love it. She's currently the Ceo and I'm in my third year now of pot or the pride of dating marching band and it's been one of the biggest blessings ever to be a part of such a tight knit community. I personally think it's the most diverse group of students across our entire campus diversity of majors, backgrounds, hometowns, everything and everyone has a place there. I get to use music even though music is not a part of my major, but it has been a part of my life for a long time. So being able to continue that and all of the friends that I've made through it have truly, truly carried me through my four years at U. D. Here. It's a way to continue to grow and learn into foster interests outside of my major and meet people outside of my major and just to be involved in campus. Um I've been involved with the student ambassadors for four years now. I lead an amazing student staff of close to 50 students. So um we work all of the open house events, we get to interact with all of the incoming students, which is so much fun. We get like special facetime and help students find their way on our campus, which is amazing. I also really love, again just more of the activities that are across campus to you. Sometimes they have movies in the main like law and plaza area. Um they've run trips to Kings Island, which is close by. There's always something going on something that you can find to entertain yourself. Of course the student neighborhood is like a huge place also, I think that's one thing that drew me to you. D also is seeing the community in the student neighborhood. There's not a lot of opportunities where you get to live in close community with all of your peers. So we have a huge like sunroom porch on the front of our house right now. My roommate and I share this beautiful room that we have behind me and um, we really enjoyed meeting our neighbors and getting to play cornhole outside in front of our house and still be really close to all of our academic buildings and everything like that.
