Science Hill
The name speaks for itself! Science Hill is a cluster of all of the STEM buildings and some social sciences as well. Science Hill also features our Jack Baskin School of Engineering which is our only professional school as it receives federal and private funding. The majors included in Baskin are the Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS), Biomolecular Engineering (BME), Computer Engineering (CE), and Computer Science (CS) to name a few. Our STEM and social sciences departments are some of the most popular(and unfortunately, most impacted) majors here at UCSC. Throughout both departments, faculty and students work with a variety of technology corporations, including Amazon, Cisco, Diffbot, Google, Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, Seagate, Western Digital and more. The growing local high-tech industry in Santa Cruz provides additional opportunities for exciting collaborations. Science Hill is also home to our second library on campus known as Science and Engineering library. Students mostly use this place to study.
