HOW TO GET INTO UCLA/USC/CAL/UCI/UCDAVIS
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
It's gonna be on how I got into all the schools that I got into, what classes they took, what programs that was then. Just general information like that should just boost your chances of getting into the schools that you want to get into. First things first, I'm gonna let you guys know which schools that apply to in which schools that I got into. All is in political science majors and as my alternate major, I put philosophy. My case was a little bit different than a lot of people's cause, you know, some people transfer, you see, Do you see some people who just transferred from a community college? I went to a you see, my first year, I went to UC Riverside. So I was gonna do you see, do you see transfer? Regardless, It was just a matter of if I wanted to sit there and pay for housing or if I just want to move with my parents. So I decided to move to L. A with my parents and ended up going to a meeting college and what it did before, everything I Even when I was at Riverside, I knew that I was gonna transfer. Besides the fact that they gave me that I get sea and a lot of the class is that college counselors gave me were completely wrong and it was gonna waste my time. So I actually had to sit down with a couple of friends who transferred to U. C L A R U C birthday or whatever and figure out what classes I needed to take what was really upsetting with me Waas that there was certain classes from Riverside that did and transfer over here and has it take those classes again. If you're from another, you see, So I literally had either one year, two years, depending on having wanted Thio fixed my classes to transfer so Here's what I actually did. You want to transfer to any of these schools, get on the honors program because that will help you so much like, first of all, it is is gonna put you at a higher standing than other people, just in terms of schooling. What I did waas is that of taking two years to transfer, and the only reason why it was gonna take me two years. Because in the honors program, you're gonna have an alternate major, and that's gonna be kind of your safety net. In case you don't get in with your major, you're gonna be able to still apply with your other major and still get in with your other major domo, second semester, all of my classes. For the longest time, I honestly didn't even know what I wanted my second major to be because I was only taking a political science classes besides one philosophy class. So the only reason I took six classes was because I wanted to leave literally in one year, like I wanted to transfer in a year. I was like, If I don't get in this year to any of the UC is, I'm not gonna ever be able to get it unless I go for, like, law school or whatever, so like, really stressed out about after the honors program. The other biggest thing also is G p A. And the best way to boost your GPS to take honors classes and to take really easy classes and just get straight A's. But I don't want you guys to focus too much on GPS because you don't need to sit there like cry yourself to sleep because you don't have a 4.0, no, you can literally get in with, like, a 3.4. You 3.5 like anything like that, as long as you do the other things that I told you to do. The next thing to do is to join clubs only God, I don't know how many times I have to tell people this. I don't know how many times I have to like sit there and be like you guys cannot just depend on your g p a or your personal statements. You have to show that you are a student where he was able to do other things which was really unfair for us because they feel like being a student is a full time job. You know, like I should not be able to do other stuff like I should just focus on being a student. So you have potential to honestly contribute to the university that you're gonna fly to, I would say literally said there and manually start a club and put that on there, that you were founder of a club or join a club for like a year and then become the president or something because that shit helps a lot with me. Here's the other thing that I think is also really important is your personal statement. They know a lot of people don't really focus too much on it because some people are like, they're not even gonna read it. I was like, I am not gonna take the chance with personal statement or personal insight, questions. Whatever they're called, I would say, really reach out to their emotional appeal of everything. You know, if you can sit there and make them cry, sit there and make them cry. Let them know about the biggest trouble of your life. Then at the end of the day, at the end of your thing, make sure that it looks like you came out as a stronger person was willing to do great things for the world, so that's really, really important. Okay, maybe you know what you're doing and you're gonna get with your first major or your main major, but it does not hurt to have a safety net. Then once you do that, make sure you get good grades in those classes because those were really important. The other major thing that I want to tell you guys, I know it's really nerve wracking. I know what's really crazy, but I don't want you to sit there and look at the stocks and look at the numbers or anything like that because I did that and I literally just stressed me out even more. If you have any suggestions on what else you want to see for me, just let me know. I really, really hope you guys the absolute best. The key thing to remember is to be motivated like this is not gonna happen if you're not motivated, you have toe 100% 120% Want it and go after it until you get it. We're not gonna get to the rejection part because you guys are all going to succeed and we're all gonna rule the world. If you guys have any questions, just let me know if you have any suggestions, let me know, and I hope to see you guys next time.
