Hi everyone, my name is Casey, I'm currently the student government president and this semester I had the honour of planning and promoting regional night. So regional now is a cultural institution here at Thunderbird. It's a long standing tradition of student led talent to represent a specific region and culture and just an amazing opportunity to learn about different areas of the world through education, through dance song, anything that you want to know regional light has to offer it from my understanding, pre covid regional night was a party and more so than just a party. It was this beautiful event full of food, culture, dancing, education representation and all around a place to be regionally is so important to us here at Thunderbird because honestly it's kind of part of the curriculum. We're showcasing student led talent, we're showcasing the diverse population we have here at Thunderbird And it really shows the community and the alumni at large who we are as T birds and how we can contribute back to the community. This semester we had the honour of representing Europe as a region for regional night. We had about 150 people on the zoom call and we kind of saw that and we were we were super excited to have everyone tune in, although we couldn't do it in person, we still made it work and have some amazing student led talent from singing to dancing to amazing, love my panel and we actually hosted it right here on the Thunderbird campus on the seventh floor, we set up an amazing stage, had two of our lovely hosts come and represent us, Our Thunderbirds made it happen and they had individual watch parties, distance with mass, everything like that, to make sure they could still come together and celebrate regional night despite having to be virtual. It took a lot of Excel spreadsheets and a lot of planning, but at the end of the day we got it done and I really hope you guys are able to tune in and watch the recording and obviously see us next year. So coming, this May, we're going to be moving into our new global headquarters, located in downtown phoenix. In terms of regional night, this means we're going to have so much more space to showcase all of our student led talent and this new building not only offers space, but state of the art, technology and places where we can come together, including a pub on the roof to make sure that we're still keeping our thunderbird traditions alive. So going into what regional life and I look like next semester, I can't give away too many details, but I can't say it's going to be bigger and better. And to end this was maybe a little inside scoop next year's region that we're celebrating regional night may involve more than one. So stay tuned, I'll see you next fall.
