My name is Amanda and I'm from Fort Worth texas and I'm currently a sophomore at texas State University in san marcos texas. I honestly think I have like 20 t shirts, lots of bobcat gear for sure. I actually want to show you my favorite ones at the moment. It says eat them up cats because they're the texas state bobcats. We kind of go like eat them up cats, which I think is really fun. Um I'm actually currently majoring in business management with a concentration in human resources, so that's really exciting. Um I know I wanted to do business management because I wanna maybe you run my own business one day. Um I'm not really sure what I want to do with it yet. So maybe something to do with like, honestly like music events or festivals or something like music related kind of manage that aspect as well. Um But my concentration is in human resources, so maybe I want to do something with that, I am not quite sure yet, but I just actually added a minor international business. I really want to study abroad next spring, so hopefully those to kind of go together and I can do something global with my major as well. Why did I choose texas state? How did I get here? Um I actually didn't even know texas state was the schools being honest. My mom was the one that found it, so I was like, okay, let's go, let's check it out. Um, So we did a campus tour and that just, so see the deal for me. Um I think it's really important to do campus tours whenever you're looking for colleges to apply to, because you actually get to feel what it's like to be on campus and you get to feel that environment and see what it's about. So whenever I stepped on Text States campus, I just knew that was what I wanted to be. Um First of all, it's a beautiful campus, lots of greenery, it's in hill country, so lots of hills. We actually have a river running through campus in case you didn't know which is extremely cool. So whenever you're out of class, it's a nice sunny day. You can just walk to the river can go tubing, you play sand volleyball, frisbee or tan. Your degree is account unless you jump in the river right after graduation. So literally after you walk across the stage, here you go and jump in the river, which is so fun. Um, so hopefully whenever I graduate in the spring and it's gonna be warm outside so I'll be able to jump in And not be too cold. I think it's 72° year round, so definitely a great temperature. Another reason why I chose texas state is because we're in a great location. So if you are kind of tired of being in our small hometown, maybe suburbs aren't for you. If you just want to take a day trip or a weekend trip to one of the studies, there's lots of fun. Um, so I enjoy that as well and that's definitely a reason why I chose texas state. Another one is that it's actually common recurring theme. If you were to ask any of the students why they chose texas day, we all kind of have a similar answer is that everybody wants you to be successful. They give you all the resources that you need, um, to be successful in your classes, maybe to help you with personal side projects that you might have or just in life in general and they want to make sure that you graduate and that you find the job which is really great coming from a hometown that didn't really have that same energy. I really enjoyed the environment and this is all from the campus tour as well. Like I got this all from the campus tour, um, which was kind of crazy and awesome, that you can feel that energy just for campus tour that maybe last like an hour. Then also text state is full of diversity as well. That feel that their unique and just want to be themselves, just a great campus to come, come to and study with. Um, definitely full of diversity, lots of inclusion. We definitely all support one another in a big, large community. Um, that's definitely what encompasses texas day is why I chose to come here.
