I'm a junior at Susquehanna University and I'm going to talk to a little bit about academics at Susquehanna. I'm an environmental studies and creative writing, double major and I chose those major just because I have a really big interest in the environment and climate change. So it's been a great way for me to try to merge these two interests of mine for environmental studies, it's very different than environmental science, which is another major that we have. So if you're more interested in science and like going out into the field and take measurements and that's sort of the thing, environmental science will be more for you. Environmental studies is less science focused and more interdisciplinary. We also take courses to help us prepare for a career in policy or environmental consulting and things like that. So we'll take classes and things like politics or policy, some writing courses, some environmental ethics type courses, some current events courses. So things getting us ready to not necessarily be scientists and go out into the field, but to like advocate for the environment in various different ways just to be well rounded and understand the various lenses that we could look at environmental issues through. I really appreciate having all those different perspectives. I think it keeps class is interesting too because there's a wide variety of things that we can take for a major.
