Hey, guys, I know I'm going to talk to you a little bit about life hasn't already and how that would play into your first year experience. Also if any of you guys are interested in becoming an aura at Stony Brook University, so a little bit about life as an aura. So as in a way you're responsible for about forty ish students, it can range actually from twenty to forty students and as an IRA are sore. Job is to be there for our residents in whatever they may need, whether it be personal, academic, etcetera. In first year students time at Stony Brook, there are a is the first person to greet them to help them move into their building to move into their room. They're just, oh, like overall there to support the residents. We hold a lot of different programs during our time there, and we try to make a students feel as comfortable as possible during that transition from high school to college. I think that many of my residents, Consejo, that they're really close to me and that they really come there really comfortable with talking to me about different issues that they may have because of the close knit bond that we formed during the first six weeks of school? I think that this is something that really differentiate Stony Brook from any other university, are a's, go through a lot of training. We go through both summer training for two weeks straight from like ADM Toe like eleven PM, just learning about what students needs are and how we can best accommodate them. Also we learned about the these things again during winter training during the winter session, when everyone else has gone home. So I think that Stony Brook does a really good a job at training resident assistance to do a really great job at making residents feel like this is their second home and like a place that they want to live so how to become an array. So there's obviously not just one path or route to becoming in our ray. I can just tell you about my experience at Stonybrook becoming in our red. So I applied at the end of my first semester freshman year to become in our A. I sent in my application online, and then a few weeks later, I got asked to participate in a group interview. There are many different people at my table, and there are many different tables. We were asked to do different team activities, which would probably show, like what role we would play in a team or in a group dynamic. I thought that it was kind of interesting that things that they gave us two d'Oh. Then a few weeks later, they asked me to come back for a one on one interview. So I came back and I was sitting at a table with two R A's and an R H. D, a residence Hall director, and they were basically asking me situational questions of what I would do in certain situations. They also asked me questions about my involvement on campus and how much I knew about the campus itself. So definitely getting involved to something that you want to dio since Day one. I think it's also something that many people regret not doing at Stony Brook University until later on, maybe during their sophomore year or their junior year or even their senior year. Especially, it's really important to become involved because it's really easy, not Teo. You definitely have to put yourself out there and explore what your interests or your passions, maybe, and like, what is the right fit for you, which goes into the different clubs and organizations that we'LL have on campus, whether or not you're going to be in our ray or whether or not you want to be in alright, it's really important to get involved on campus, and it's really important toe like discover like who you are and like what you like to do in your free time. I think that Stony Brook has all the resource is regardless of what anyone else says. For that, it's just that at Stony Brook you have to go personally searching for that instead of it coming to you.
