Valerie at Springfield College

I'm from Spencer, Massachusetts, and I'm a health science and pre physician assistant major here at Springfield College. I'm currently on campus taking classes in person and online. I am a first generation college student, so I had little to no guidance on what to look for in a college other than my intended major. As a result, I ended up applying to a ton of different colleges that varied in size, location and campus life. As it turns out, it didn't really matter how many schools I had seen before, because the moment I stepped on campus, I knew I was where it was meant to be. The confusion I had felt before about what school to choose quickly changed into confidence. As I felt the spirit of Springfield College that each student here embodies every student that I met. Just Exubera treated this positive energy that couldn't be matched anywhere else. Okay, I started my first semester of freshman year in the fall of 2020. So there were a lot of changes made affecting students residing on campus due to the pandemic. That I originally drew me in the sense of community that makes Springfield so unique just grew stronger and stronger as the days went by. Attending Springfield College has been one of the best decisions that I've ever made. I've been able to try and do so many different things that I've never done before, like be a part of the women's rugby team. I've also made friends that I consider family and have been able to make Springfield my second home, and that's one of the most important things that Springfield could ever offer to its students.
