Meet a Springfield College Student: Rachel Brown was a transfer student who talks about the "best decision she ever made." She talks about her experiences with work-study and how grateful she is for the relationships she has been able to form while being a part of this community. Springfield College is an independent, nonprofit, coeducational institution founded in 1885. Approximately 4,100 students, including 2,500 full-time undergraduate students, study at its main campus in Springfield, Mass., and at its regional campuses across the country. I transferred in as into my sophomore year and it was the best decision I've ever made. The people here are so genuinely nice, and that's a big part of why I picked Springfield College. You feel at home when you're here, you know, everyone holds the door open for one another. So I've had a work study job here at Springfield College for the past three years, and it's really been a solid part of my experience here. I mean, I love everyone in that office and they really made me one of their own. They treat me like one of their own, and I feel so comforted when I go into that office. It gave me a sense of like, further purpose while I was here, because obviously academics or such a large part of college, But you know, having another sense of like using time management skills and making relationships with other peers and something that is just so important in everyday life, and that office definitely gave me the opportunity to do that. I think it's so important for someone to have an environment that they can thrive in and that they feel safe and comforted in, um, as a student, as a learner, just as a human. I think I definitely found that here in Spring Hill College, and I'm so happy with every relationship that I've made every experience that I've had and it's so crazy that I'm graduating in May. But I'm I'm gonna reflect back on this time and just I feel so happy and comforted that I was here. I am Rachel Brown and I'm a Springfield College student.
