The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I am going to be a junior this fall at Springfield College. I am from Glass Murray, Connecticut, which is where I am now in my backyard. I am in the position assistant program, a Springfield, and some of the activities that I'm involved with are the student Ambassador's Club, which means that I am a tour guide and I hope, with open houses and accepted students days. I am also on the women's tennis team, and I'm also on the student athlete leadership team where I represent the woman Sensi. So this video is going to be kind of a general overview about Springfield College. I'm going to talk about some of the things that the school is big on, and I'm also going to talk about some of my favorite parts of the school, which I think will also be some things that you will love. This beautiful campus was founded in the year 18 85. Springfield College is known as the birthplace of basketball. Basketball was invented by James Naysmith, and we have a statue of James Dean Smith, right outside of Student Union that is definitely one of the places. You're gonna have to take a picture when you stepped foot on campus. So at Springfield College, we have just about 3000 students. The school is located in Springfield, Massachusetts. You can see exactly where Springfield College is right on this map here. I personally really like the location of the school because I feel like there are plenty of places right nearby where I can go shopping or I can go out to eat or go bowling or go to the movies. Whatever fun stuff I want to dio, we actually have a free shuttle that can take you right from campus to these places and back to campus multiple times a week. So when you first get to campus, one of the first things you're going to notice is that there are triangles everywhere. The three sides of the triangle at Springfield College represents spirit, mind and body, which is the biggest part of the school. Springfield College mission is to educate the whole person in spirit fine and body for leadership in service to others. So going along with this theme, Springfield College has an incredible sense of community, which means that everybody really looks out for each other and once genuine best another. It was one of the things that drew me most to the school because when I went on my tour, I saw people holding the door for one another. I saw people saying hi to everyone when they were walking by. It just made me feel like it was a nice welcoming place to be typically in dorm rooms. If people are just having downtime or hanging out with a couple, friends believe their doors open. It's really a very welcoming environment where if you're walking by, it's totally normal to just stop by and say Hi. We've been walking and just make new friends At Springfield, we have varsity sports teams. We also have so many different clubs are not at all related to sports that you can join. One of my favorite stories from my freshman year is in the fall semester. Shortly after I moved on to campus, I had a tennis match and in high school, usually only my parents and sometimes my grandparents would come watch my tennis matches. It was like October of my freshman year, so I was still very new to college and my mom came upto watch me and all my new friends. I had met from my dorm room and for my orientation group, just classes they all came and want. This is really just one of the so many different examples I could give to show that everybody truly cares about one another. The amount of school spirit at Springfield College is seriously incredible. One time I was giving it toward on just a random Thursday, and this parent asked me, Oh, did you tell everyone to wear Springfield closed today because you were giving a tour. I was like, No, this is just what it looks like every day here and it's seriously true. Backward is perfectly normal to just be wearing sweat pants to class. That's not weird, old, but I can't wait to tell you more about one of my favorite places ever.
