The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I'm going into my junior year at Springfield College, and I just want to jump on here and share my story of what let me to choosing Springfield, along with some of my favorite parts and programs and activities that I am involved in at Springfield College. I live in Orange County, Rancho Santa Margarita, California to be exact. So when I was looking at schools, I really did not expect myself to fly all the way across the country and settle in Western Mass. But when I was looking at schools, I had characteristics and requirements of schools that I wanted and spring football. It's gonna checked off all those boxes of things that I wanted. One of the major requirements I have and I was looking at schools was men's viable. So has many looking at schools that had men's volleyball. Luckily for May spin, pro college hasn't very good mental about program, so it worked out for me and checked off that box. So it worked out for me, and I really wanted community feel where I could be, like I was a part of campus getting involved in helping and serving in campus. Also when I walk around campus, I love seeing faces I know every day but also faces. It gives me an opportunity to meet new people, but also feel very comfortable and almost safe on campus. The last crime I really had was I wind on the opportunity. Could still be a collegiate athlete will also be involved in other programs besides my sport. Like most student athletes, when they go to schools, it's just their sport, and that's all they can really dio. Luckily for me, Springfield College, I saw the opportunity to be on my sports team, my collegiate team, but also I could be involved in other programs, activities where I can still feel like I'm a member of the community and a member of campus and helping on on campus serving campus and just feeling like I'm really immersed in the campus life at Springfield College some of those programs activities that I am involved in at Springfield College are one of them being pre camp. Pre camp is one my favorite programs at Springfield College House, So it's a pre freshman orientation program that incoming students can apply to. It's a four day experience where you really get toe, meet incoming students in your same situation, kind of make connections, make some friendships and really brings on your walls and open up to others before getting onto campus. So you're kind of feel a little bit more comfortable. You get your Judah's out before you get onto campus and start your freshman year of college. Another one of my favorite programs that spring from colleges student ambassadors so student ambassadors will be give tours and work open houses for incoming and potential students. It's a great way for us to build a connection, answer some questions, give him a bunch of information about academics, athletics, maybe give him some inside in a field they want to study. It's a great move, but I'm just gonna get insight to what campus life is like and hopefully get a good feel for Springfield College and in the end. Springfield College is their home for the next four years. So assault was our student athlete leadership team, and I represent men's voidable in the salt. It's a great way where we can bring athletics everywhere on campus and try and get people to our athletic events. Bring a lot of home crowd and pride to our athletic events, and it's really make athletics a bigger presence on campus. It's also a great way for us to use Hugh Mannix. We do a lot of service drives and a lot of fundraisers. It's a great way where we can support our local community outside of Springfield College. Overall, Springfield College has given me the opportunity to get a great education, but also pursue the sport I love. It's also give me the great opportunity to be apart, but the programs activities that are making me a better leader, but also to shaping me into a better person. Overall, I think my favorite things being for colleges give me is just the opportunity to be uncomfortable coming from California to Western Mass. It's over 2000 miles away. It was a very big change for me, and I was scared, anxious, didn't really know what was gonna happen, and it just allowed me to break down my walls, be uncomfortable, be vulnerable, have conversations with people that I have never met before and have lived totally different lives from them and just grow relationships, grow friendships and really just be a part of activism programs that I wouldn't be able to do if I was going to school somewhere else. I think, by me saying yes to everything and willing to try new activities willing to go out of my comfort zones. I have had the best experience, and I made the best friendships. So for my last piece of advice, I would just say, If you come to Springfield College, if you're looking at any school, no matter where you go, just say yes to anything and everything, and you really will have the best experience.
