We were founded in 18 85 as a y M C A. Training school. We've definitely evolved and adopted toe have are a bunch of different majors and programs. We've kept really great roofs in connections and ties with wine, which is a great opportunity for students and for the Springfield community as a whole. So whether you're like, very passionate about the wind sea and you definitely want to get involved or you don't really know their mission statement Springfield a great way to start and keep those roots kind of in our back pocket. So on campus to stay connected with the why we have a ton of different programs and opportunities first since get involved in one really easy ways to join our wide club. Why club meets every week typically for like just a hour, you can stop by throughout the day. They have speakers come here on different like leadership opportunities and conferences to attend and get involved in. So it's a really easy way to start and just get involved in. I kind of find a network of people that also want to get connected with the Why way also have a whole y M c a minor. It's called Y M C A Professional studies, but it's a 15 credit minor that prepare students for careers within the Y, M C A or other community based organizations. So if you want to incorporate that within your own curriculum and add that to your coursework, thoughts a cool way to do so on commonly around campus, you'll see our triangle. Apostrophe, which is all about educating the whole self in spirit, mind body through leadership in service to others. The inverted triangle each point represents a different aspect. So we have spirit, mind and body, and that was adopted by one of our professors here, Luther Gulick, and then later it was adopted by the wine.
