Hi, everyone and welcome. Can you video today? I'm Gonna show you my dorm. It's not really a dorm. It's a room in a regular apartment. I live in Isla Vista, so I don't live in Santa Barbara. But I used to live in one of our beloved last year. Uh, yeah, I'm just going to show you real quick what it looks like in here and my experiences with the housing situation. I guess so, Yeah. This is what it looks like directly when you walk into the room Eso yet this is my side of the room. So it's my furniture, you see, And then most of the time, you have to share your room with someone else. So I maturing and my room with another girl. So beasts are her things. Uh, we also have our own claw sets, so that want is her closet. And this one is my closet. And we also are lucky to have our own bathroom. So the reason why I live in the regular apartment is because there is no on campus housing on S p C. C. So you have to find your housing off campus. How I found housing and how most people found housing and is through Facebook groups. S o I went Teoh especies your housing when I first got my first apartment and then I went to use just be housing when I found my current department. So in these apartment that I live in your right now we have to force. So you first walking. You can see the common area, the living room space in the kitchen space and they walk up one for and there is two bedrooms up here. Uh, we both have our own bathrooms, so we are a total of four girls living here. My favorite possible living like this is that you are always having people around you. You are You're being more social. I guess I wouldn't be that social if I lived alone. Especially now, when all of my classes are online. My least favorite part of living like this is that you are never alone. You Well, sometimes you are alone. But most of the time you are having people around you, and you don't really have much privacy. Um, something worth mentioning. It's that I'm from Sweden. So when I moved here a year ago, I was going to move into an unfurnished apartment, so I didn't have any being at all to bring with me except two suitcases. So my solution to that waas I brought myself on my mattress to sleep over the first. Like I think it was my first month or so until I couldn't by myself, a bed and some other things that I needed. That is something I really recommend you to do if you are planning to move abroad because you can't really bring a bed with you or anything like that, and I mean, the flight is already expensive, So why should you buy a better right away? Unless you're lucky to find housing where it's already furnished something else. You have to be prepared off when you are moving here is that the rents are very expensive and I'm paying around $700 and that is I wouldn't take cheap, but it's kind of average costs here, Um, and then you also have to pay your deposit when you move in, and you also have to worry about utilities. Eso, gas, electricity on duh WiFi. That is what we are paying for. So yeah, I hope you like this short but very
