We're actually just building a new nursing building here, and they're gonna have a state of the art sim lab, which will be mannequins and different things so that students could really learn how to do that. I think that'll be a great draw for new students. Um, I would have applied skc regardless whether they had a fancy SIM lab or not. I think it's really cool that they're really trying. Thio bring more things for the students to have one of the reasons why I chose SKC. People just raved about it and loved it. I actually got pregnant when I was 15 and I had my daughter when I was 16. For a while, I thought college was never possible and I always wanted to go to college. It's important to have some sort of, you know, either trade or higher education or some things that you can make a way for yourself and provide. When I had my daughter, I just thought, Oh my gosh, how am I going to do this? And then, you know, with all these people telling me all these positive things about SKC and and the advisor I had was so amazing. You know, whatever it takes, let's just work with your schedule. Let's work with what you want to dio it just solidified it for me, like this is the right choice. I'm so glad that I chose SKC and financially, it's a great decision. SKC is just fractions of the cost and their scholarships you can apply for. It's just this amazing atmosphere where people are constantly reaching out to you and you can email them and they'll email you back. SKC. The waiting list was long when I was going to apply, but they do have openings intermittently. So it is great for single parents or parents, you know, especially if you live on campus. There's so many students that have kids at SKC. It's it's a very nontraditional college. I mean, I was in class with a couple of people that were in their sixties and it was so cool to see that like education never stops and at SKC, they make it so accessible. Thio have that and to grow in it and to be with people of all walks of life and they don't discriminate and they make everyone feel welcome. We have tons of different clubs for pretty much anybody, any walk of life, any ethnicity, any sexual orientation. The people of SKC they want to the students, you know, they want to invest in each other and it's so great to see. Like last year I was on like a liaison to student Senate. I was in the student nursing organization as a vice president, and then I went to student Senate meetings. I really wanted to go on this amazing trip to Florida. Thio advocate for the astronomically high rates of diabetes in our area and show the community service that me and a few other nursing students have been doing over the year, and I just I started going to our students Senate meetings and the kindness I found there was just unmatched in the willingness. Thio want to give us funds to do that and their way that they were reaching out to our campus saying movie nights and feeding us and doing breakfast burritos like I don't see that at bigger universities. Like the students, there's just this really deep bond. It's such a small, tight knit community on the campus that you can see someone a year later and they remember you because it's not just to see if people I don't even know what you know. Ah, single mom that's 45 has four kids and just needs to get some sort of degree very quickly. She is perfect for SKC, you know, to parents that are wanting to go and get a business degree to start a business together. They can drop their kids off at the day care facility and go to class, and then goto work and and the teachers will work with you. Teachers are really there for student success and engagement. We actually have a department that's called student success in Eva Touristy works there, and she is just amazing, like I can't sing these people's praises enough. It's just spend so cool to see the sense of community s case he has repeatedly year after year hasn't changed. How willing teachers are and SKC is to just really help you, and they want to see you prosper and make our community better. That's one of the things that I love about SKC, and I think I've said SKC like 1000 times. I think it's a really good option for people that need a sense of family and community and also a degree that's affordable and pretty much everything.
