What led me to choose SKC in the first place is I just heard so many good things about it. We live in a really small area, so it's It's actually amazing that we have a college here, the nursing program, especially. I always heard people just rave about it just constantly, like, SKC has such an amazing program and it's a state of the art And just I think that s Casey does have state of the art people. I don't know how to put it In every department. I have done lots of different classes just for prerequisites for SKC and remind nursing program. Um, I've taken a lot of courses in Native American culture and history, and my great Grandpa Waas fully enrolled in a tribal member, and he left my great grandma, and so I never really knew much about him. And it's just been phenomenal to have the opportunity to learn more about, like, a little piece of me and and where I live and the people that are here and my colleagues, my classmates and it's been so invaluable to be able to have the opportunity to take classes like that at college and not have to read research papers about it and have teachers that are just so smart and educated in their field and anthropology. And I remember my American history teacher, Aaron Brian, and he is just phenomenal. Just knows so much. His deep rooted knowledge and anthropology is just unmatched, and he knows so much about the area and the culture, and it's just tangible, his knowledge for it. And if you like, that's something that I really enjoyed here at SKC just learning so much about people and about the area I live in. And it's been amazing to just grow in that way and especially working. I worked as a full time nurse at our local rural Critical Care Access Hospital in Row Nan, and just to be able thio understand, even in the smallest amount of culture and some of my own and really just be cognizant of that Ah, lot of its due to S K C and the schooling that I received, and I can't even say how thankful I am because it's really made me a better nurse. It's really made me more aware of what people need on a spiritual level on a holistic level, what type of healing they're they're interested in. And even the questions to ask. You know, I I never knew what type of questions asked before. And now I feel confident, you know, having some of the historical background. And, um, it's just been invaluable, especially in the place that I live to be able to take courses like Native American history and health and disparities focusing on Native American people and tribal colleges. Offer that and a lot of universities don't, and I've really appreciated the opportunity to learn and grow so astronomically
