I currently live on campus in franklin Hall, which is one of our sophomore buildings I'm in. My major is elementary education with endorsements in reading and english language arts. When I was considering um, what colleges I wanted to apply to and possibly attend after high school, I knew that I wanted to be in an education program. So that helped me going through the college process of picking and choosing. You know, one of the biggest things for me here in ST Ambrose is that I'm not just a number, I'm not just one of hundreds sitting in a lecture hall. I know my professors and my professors know me, you know, they know my name, they know my face, which is just something you're not going to get out a bigger school faculty staff professors there truly invested in your success as a student and also your success beyond college. I also really liked that other schools with their education programs, you're likely going to start clinical, uh, more practical experiences in classrooms. I was in a classroom my freshman year before I even applied to my teacher education program. I knew for sure that this major was for me, this is what I want to do and since then I've been in one or two classrooms each semester, all over the quad cities. I've seen inner city schools, I have seen public schools, private schools, you name it? I've had such a wide variety of experiences. It's made me more confident and I know that I'm getting the tools here at ST Ambrose to be successful. Another thing I love about ST Ambrose is how supportive everyone is for all students. We have free tutoring and counseling services for all students on campus. They have spiritual guidance and that sort of thing. Being a catholic school, there's just so many resources on campus for students and we really value our differences here. I think that's the neighbors has a really good job of encouraging that openness and that sharing of ideas and experiences and just striving to learn from one another.
