Cool Spots to Hangout (and the worst one)
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I'm stay after improv club, and this is where all the cool kids are hanging out. Something interesting about a lot of the bars on campus here. A P S u is that they allow minors until seven for nine, one of the two. This is throughout the cheerful tortoise, which is the college bar. It's actually a really fun place, and I like Rogue a lot because there's a lot of outdoor seating and it allows students feel they can do what they want outside. So it's pretty noisy back here because of all the traffic. These right here used to be a fraternity house uh, all of the sororities and fraternities don't have houses anymore. Um, and they're pretty niece thing here uh, good. They are a good place for a lot of people to find community. What's really important about this area so behind the frat houses are where, for years and years and years, underaged college freshmen come to do illicit drugs. We don't know what drugs do to the brain over time. You see him? That's my place, the grey one right there. This is a spectacular view of the city that I is really cool. That building, actually right in front of us is University Point on campus. That building is a privately owned college house. Sing It is the least expensive and best place to live on campus. Crowded around here just with the cars in the street, traffic and everything. This building I want to show you right here is pretty important. I'm sorry, but this building is called New Burger. Oh, shoot this way is how he's gonna walk, but it's blocks We'll go around this building had the steepest stairs that I've ever walked up in my entire life. They're reconstructing the whole thing from the inside out there spending something like seventy million dollars, uh, renovating it, which, you know, I don't know how many people's worth of tuition that could pay, but it'll be cool to have a new building. This is where, like the financial aid office and, you know, a ton of different lecture classrooms are these is Here are the mobile trailers that this is about half of the stuff that's been moved from new burger, At least half of the sort of the office of Registrar. Remember? I was talking about, you know, the bureaucrat, bureaucracies, your whatever. Uh, there's two classrooms student financial services, financial well in the center, financial aid, restrooms and the registrar. Our seemed to be what are in here in these portable trailers. It's not necessarily bad that they have these trailer set up. I understand that they're renovating the building, and you know, there aren't necessarily many options, but this renovation is a little fishy to me. People are always talking about, you know, some type of budget crisis. You're saying that dramatically because it ought to be said dramatically. Seventy million dollarsworth are being spent renovating Neuberger. That sounds sketchy and a little too close to like a money laundering scheme to me. Now, I'm not saying that I know anything But frankly, like I think that money could have better, at least part of the money would have better been used being going back, too. I think that seventy million dollars is a lot of money to renovate a building down in building a new one. They're renovating an old one, and I think at least a part of that money, even like five million of it, could help the student body of Portland St Love exponentially so.
