Hey, y'all my name is Chloe. I'm going to give you a little introduction about myself and then tell you why I chose Parker University to be my home for the next 3.5 years. Let's get started. Alrighty! So, like I said, my name is Chloe and I'm a tri four at Parking University, which means that I just started my second year here in Dallas, Texas. First, I want to give a little introduction about myself, and then we'll get into all the why I chose Parker and all that. So, at eight years old, I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I was complaining about back pain frequently, and my parents were like only old people have back pain, like you're fine. But, after enough convincing, we went to a doctor and they did, uh, diagnose me with scoliosis, and I immediately started going to a chiropractor to seek treatment for my back pain. And I got a lot of relief, and I immediately fell in love with it, and I told my mom that I wanted to help people the same way that I was helped. So, that brings me to college. I started college in the fall of 2016 at Southeastern Louisiana University with a major of kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science. So, I was in school with future physical therapists, occupational therapists, future P As, and I absolutely loved it. And I graduated at the top of my class with a 4.0 in the fall of 2019, and two weeks later, I started tri one at Parker University. So, it's a little bit about myself. And then now we'll get into why I chose this program. All right. So, this is why I chose Parker as my chiropractic school. When I was in college, I was a CA for about three years, which means chiropractic assistant, and three of the associate doctors that I worked for did go to Parker, so I had that initial bias already. But I didn't want to make the decision for myself. So, me and my mom, I think maybe two years before I ever got accepted, started touring chiropractic colleges. Um, that is something I recommend you do if you are looking or if you are on the fence about where to go. I think it gives a great insight as to what the environment is like at that school on an everyday basis, and that is definitely what made me decide Parker. So, as soon as I stepped on Parker's campus, I just had this different feeling. And as soon as I got in the car after the tour, I told my mom that, you know, we don't need a tour anywhere else. This is where I'm going to go to school. They do have, um, Parker Power Weekend for incoming or interested students. And I also recommend that because I did go to that kind of like as a confirmation thing for me. And I thought Parker Power Weekend was great. They go into they give you tours. You know, you listen to people speak, and it was a great weekend for anyone that was on the fence about it. Um, so what made me choose Parker was I was very impressed with their focus on the science aspect of chiropractic. Like I said, I have that background in kinesiology. I love science. Uh, you know, everything I do is rooted in science, and I love that they put that emphasis on it, and I think that, as future doctors, that that emphasis on science is very important. But, uh, there are plenty of reasons to choose Parker. And these were some of the points that they listed on their website that I just like to read back to you all because I agree with each bullet point. And I think you know all these are other things that make Parker stand out from other colleges. So, number one, the foundation of service. Parker students believe in service. At the heart of our founder, Dr. James Parker's legacy, is the firm belief and serving others with compassion and humility. Today, we honor this by continually seeking resources is to support scholarships and lasting service initiatives. Um, I love that, and it is very true. Parker prides itself on its service, and I think that it's very important as future doctors that we realize that our future is founded on service. You know, we want to help people, uh, you know, have a better life. And Parker does put an emphasis on that. Number two - business minded, which is extremely important. Our well-rounded, chiropractic education puts an emphasis on business training. Students learn how to set up a successful practice, calculate finances, analyze performance statistics, and develop patient acquisition plans. You know, business is obviously important, as that will be a part of our future career. Number three, which is one of the ones that, like is one of my favorites, is research first. So, we are devoted advocates of evidence based practice. In order to support the expansion of our profession and global health and wellness, we insist on constant support of international research initiatives, funding of professional wide collaborative efforts, and sharing across the industry. So, one of the first classes you take, you take it in tri one, at Parker is called Introduction of Clinical Reasoning, and it pretty much gives you the ins and outs on evidence based chiropractic. You know, you learn how to properly research. And I think like they said in that bullet point that as we're expanding this profession, research is very critical in chiropractic, and I personally love reading different articles and all that about chiropractic. And that is definitely something that stands out from other schools, that Parker does put an emphasis on research. And then last bullet point - beyond the classroom. We serve the health care field through our integrated internship and clinical curriculum. Whether it's working with the Veterans Affair Hospital or one of our 35 private practice partnerships, we make sure that we are getting involved in giving back. So, in tri one through seven, you'll be in the classroom, and then tri 8, 9, and 10, you'll be in the clinic and you'll be an intern. And I think that that is a great program that we have. And I love my intern. You get paired with one in tri one. We're still very close. And it's just great to kind of get your hands on different people that last year of chiropractic school, as that is very important for our profession. And that's something that makes Parker stand out from other colleges. So, that's a little bit about why I chose Parker and why I think, um, if you are interested
