COLLEGE Q&A NC STATE UNIVERSITY
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
If you need here, I'm a grisly fashion videos, but I am a student at N. C. State University, and today we're starting to my back to school Siri's and so excited to start the series. Okay, So the first question is, how did you know the NC state was the school for you? So my junior year, I was really trying to figure out you know, where I wanted to apply. If you want early access and, like whenever school see that you're applying early access, they see that as like ambition and that you know, you want their schools. I've always liked loved fashion, but I never really knew that there was a major for that. So whenever I realized that fashion, merchandising and fashion management stuff like that was an option and that there was something other than design out there, I was really excited. So in North Carolina, there are four different schools that have a fashion, merchandising or fashion management type major. So a lot of people from my school use Appalachian as a safe school and what I liked about their program. I learned about their study abroad program, and their studios and stuff were really cool. I was really most interested in N. C State, and whenever I was doing this research my junior year, I am across a summer program for rising seniors. That, along with just hearing so much about their program and everything that they had. The offer really made me want to go there. The next question is, do you think that the textiles college at N. C. State challenges you? And I thought, this is a really interesting question, something that I hadn't seen really asked before. You know, at this point, I'm not really looking for something to challenge me. I'm more just looking to, like, get my degree and graduate because I want my career to be in this industry, and I just want Thio get there and get there without failing. Mostly I really like everything that I've done my FTM costs have been my favorite so far. I'll link a blogger posted below where I talked about that more as well as I have two different week in the life of the fashion student at N. C. State University videos, where I really talk about the school work that I do on a daily basis, and I plan to continue that into next year as well. So check out those videos if you want to know more about what I actually do and what I actually learned. So it's definitely my program that is keeping me there and that is like the number one reason I would never want to leave, because I just know it's an amazing program recommendations for packing clothing for college. You can just put a trash bag on the bottom of the hangers and then, like, really easy to transport like that. There's not really a place that I go on, like just hang out and sit around and stuff. How long is the drive from your house to your campus? So my hometown is three and 1/2 hours away? If they meant it in that perspective, and as for like where I'm living, I lived on campus last year, and this year I'm living in apartments on Centennial campus, and that's like 45 minutes from Main campus. Most of the time I'll have more textiles, college classes, and that's all in the campus that I'm living on. Is there anything you're going to try to do differently yourself? More year that you didn't do your freshman year, So I definitely want to try to do a lot of things differently because I really did not enjoy my freshman year. So I definitely want to try toe, be more outgoing and meet more people and go out more and like, try to just have more fun because I really didn't have that much fun my freshman year, and I just need to be more comfortable with putting myself out there. I'm living in Wolfrey departments and still through N. C. State, and my reasoning for that is because I'm just not ready to handle, like signing a year lease and being off campus and figuring out how to pay for that. My financial aid covers my housing through the school, and I know that there's some way I could get that money and use it for off campus housing. So I knew I wanted to live on campus and I didn't want to live in a dorm stall anymore. So there are the Wolf Ridge Apartments on Centennial Campus that I'm living in with one of my friends, and then we have two other girls as well and ask your decorating it. If you want to see the boho inspiration like I'm not against putting that up, just know that it's not what you're gonna see whenever you see what I actually got. I didn't really know them like, don't go in general because you'll end up getting drugged and like it's really dangerous. I don't think that the A C T score really matters that much. Like you can skip an entry level class if you really exceed in a certain area on the A C T. And there's like a whole chart for this on NC State's website, So there's, like different opportunities to be able to skip across. I'm kind of scared that that's gonna happen this year because while I'm still technically on campus, I'm on a different campus that's like a road away So I feel like if you meet someone on Main campus and you're like, Oh, we should hang out whatever. It's right in the middle of NC State's main campus, and I would definitely recommend just living on campus. I think it's so much more convenient and it really puts you into the environment and into the like society of the school. So I think that it's a really great thing in as a freshman, you are required to live on campus. Why did you choose and you stay over other colleges? Definitely, just because it's a really great school in the program's really great, and I kind of talked about that earlier so I won't go too far into that. I really like it because it reminds me of school lunch, so I don't eat there a lot. I haven't even there a lot, so I don't really know what they have, but you all will definitely hear about that is coming here because it is the food court right below the apartments that I'm living in. How do you choose friends in school? So I haven't really had a really hard time making friends eyes you guys. I know it has something with marine biology and it I don't really know, and the next question is, why aren't we living together next year.
