In this video, I'm going to briefly be discussing how I got into American Universities Co God School of business. So I ended up applying to American universities Kogod School of Business's M s in Sustainability Management program. It was January of 2019, the winter time, and I was graduating that May of 2019 from undergrad with a degree B A in international affairs and a business French minor. I had known for two years already that I had wanted to pursue business post undergrad, but I wasn't sure where yet. I walked onto a scam pus back during summer of 2018, and I knew instantly it was for me. I met with a few directors, a business, programs that co God. After much thought and consideration, I came to the conclusion that the M s in sustainability management program was the best fit for me when applying to the co got school of business. I'm so gracious because I had an academic advisor. They're communicating with me, emailing me, letting me know when CO God received an essay of mine or a letter of recommendation or even if they had received my unofficial And then at the end of the year, official transcript. I truly believe that my experience applying to CO God was great. I also had a couple of students who were in the M s in sustainability management program email me and reach out to me and asked me if I had any questions or if they want to call me. The director of the N s and Sustainability Management Program called me. Actually, during my senior year that spring what I have been accepted into the program. We spoke for over an hour just about my career goals, where I wanted to see myself in five years. I'm so great just because I feel like I feel like you want that support, you want help. Sometimes I feel like a students were scared to ask for it. I au they wanted to know what I could bring to them. They also wanted to tell me what they could bring to me. I really think that that set you apart because I've toward schools in the past who they don't try to sell the school to you because they have that reputation of you should just be wanting to come to us. We don't have to show you why we want you and at you. Even though American is a prestigious university, the ego is not there. Like some other schools, American University is composed of students who are go getters, self starters and self motivators. I truly think that the process was wonderful to of applying because I did not need a G M A or G R E test result. When writing your essay for God's school, especially if you're applying to the Kogod School of Business at American University, I highly recommend being true to yourself. Don't try to be someone you're not, Or don't try to sound too fancy if you don't use those words because an admissions officer is going to be able to tell the authentic and be vulnerable. Speak about a time that you may have learned something and how you've grown from that incident and how you're applying that lesson to your daily life. Now talk about how you want to change the world and what you your brand can bring. Of course, they're going to also, if you ask, anybody at the Cocotte school business is happy to tell you what they can bring to your life as well. I'm so gracious for my time at American University, and the whole process of applying was fantastic. I've had so many wonderful professors who I know I'm going to stay in touch with even post graduation. I have had my director and other professors serve as mentors to me in ways, and I hope to better myself as a student and professionally, even after my time. Yeah, it truly is something I'm so gracious for. I hope anybody's experience was as great as mine when applying to grad school.
