My Favorite Spots at Houghton
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I'm in the outdoors and you don't know this about me. The outdoors is probably one of my favorite places ever. So you know, fall also brings cold, so I apologize in advance. I'm going to be sharing with you my favorite Houghton spots. Gillette Prayer Room Gillette Prayer Room is one of my favorite little nooks that is actually in the basement of Gillette. It's really just a room that's full of prayer. You have, ah, map of global prayers like what needs prayer all around the world and then the words of encouragement on the wall and then different couches and chairs to do DeVos. Um, it's definitely a place where marginalized people can come and it's a safe place for them. It's also a space in which people can get to know other cultures, which is why I'm always in it, because I'm a part of, I say eso It's just a open space for people to experience something more than three us. My two favorite places to study are the fourth floor Chamberlain Study room, and a lot of people don't actually know that there is 1/4 floor in Chamberlain. It's a really nice space that's just small, and it sets the mood for me to study personally on. Then there's also another study room on the third floor of the library, and I just love it because of the couch. Honestly, that's really why I love it, because it's just a nice place to read specifically. I also use the back table Thio actually do homework. Thio get in the mindset of okay, I'm here to do homework, but those were two of my favorite places to study on campus. My other favorite place in the library is actually in the basement, and it's the video viewing room now. The reason I love it so much is because last semester I was part of a film class and me and a friend of mine. We're both in that class, and we had to watch, like five movies a week. So we were always in this video viewing room just watching the videos, watching the movies for our class. There's a whole section in the library that's dedicated to just, uh, videos, so you can honestly not just use it for a class. You can also use it to have movie nights with friends if it's a smaller group, because you can notice that it's a really small space. My two favorite places on this whole campus is when you walk up to go to the Houghton Trails. It gets a beautiful view of the fields and the mountains in the distance. I just love the aesthetic of everything that's out there, and it's really pretty. Then I like the little bench swing that looks out into the distance, and my favorite places are also all of the holding trails. I've been on every single one, and each of them just have a beautiful scenery. Um, it does have a lot of hills, which is why it's called what it is. The overlooked trail that actually leads you to a beautiful overlook. I meant to mention that we do have a ropes course now it isn't necessarily available to everybody, but when they have an open house, it is open to everybody. So I'm not really having that great of a time, Which is why I film all of my videos standing because those are my arm I'm gonna have, like, just my right bicep is gonna be huge. I also like to use the benches that air in the woods for DeBose. I love having walked with God out here, and I love to do my debo out here. I know a lot of people do take runs out here on the trails, so that's another thing if you like running, but I don't know why you would. If you end up on campus, maybe you will check out these spots and love them as much as I dio.
