I'm a junior here, and I'm an organizational management major. So why did you choose how in Sofia? I chose holding because I was interested in the honors program. When I heard that I got accepted into it, that was when I really, um, officially decided. Thio, come toe Houghton, how is your workload? And what are your classes like? So my workload isn't too bad. It kind of varies between the semesters and my classes are there are mixed between lecture and interactive stuff. What did you look for while searching for colleges? The biggest thing that I was looking for when searching for colleges was that it was a Christian school, which Houghton is. What makes how indifferent than other schools? I what makes holding different? I would honestly say the community I know it sounds a little bit cliche. I got ah, whole box in the mail where all my other schools that I applied to I got, um, just letters and envelopes. Houghton sent me this box full of confetti and balloons and stickers and, um ah, personal note as well as my acceptance letter. So that was one of the very first things that I noticed about Houghton standing out from the other schools that I was looking at. Um yeah, just to sum it up, I would definitely say just the intentionality of everyone here as well as the sense of community. What is your favorite thing about hoping? My favorite thing about Houghton is probably the people I've made some really good friends here? Um, I know their lifelong friendships, so I've been really thankful for that. I'm a junior music education major at the Great Vegetable of music at college. So why did you choose? Hoping I chose how in? Because when I visited, I met a lot of really great people. Um, and in the music program, I was able to study both classical music and musical theater. So tell us a little bit about the great bad school music at the Greatbatch School of Music. I am also taking music theory classes and music history classes. As a music education major, I'm taking techniques, classes where I am learning how to play all the other instruments that aren't my main instrument, so I can teach them to students in the future. So what is your workload like and what your classes was like as a music education major, I have a lot of classes, so my day is pretty full. There's always times during the day to find some time to rest, and it's really great that hope, and we have such a beautiful campus that you can come and hang out and when you're not in class, what did you look for while searching for colleges? When I was looking for colleges, I was looking for the best education for the least amount of money. Um, and Houghton did really well with scholarships and has a really, really great education. What makes how indifferent than other schools? Houghton is different than a lot of other schools because of, um, the community that we are in here and ah, lot of that attribute to the fact that we are a Christian campus and all are all here for the same purpose. Eso It's really great, you know that you have people to count on wherever you turn. What is your favorite thing about Houghton at home? And we have, um, pretty small classes because we're a small liberal arts college. So we get a lot of one on one time with professors and unique attention given to us by the professors, which has given me a lot of opportunities to grow in ways that I don't think I would have had a bigger school. Hi. My name is Naomi Cantor, and I'm a junior studio art major with a minor in education. Why did you choose Houghton? Um, I chose Houghton because the first time I visited, I felt very welcomed in and the community was extremely close. Not, um not very similar to any other college I visited before, and everyone was very willing to talk, Um, and seemed like they cared about me personally. How is your workload? And what are your classes like? Um, the work over here is definitely academically challenging. That's something that Houghton prides itself in. It's also something that I appreciate because I never feel bored in my classes here. My classes are, um, really I really enjoy my classes. There's, Ah lot of individual attention given by the professors here, which is something appreciate. What is the art program like, Um, the art program is very unique, compared Teoh a lot of other colleges and that it's fairly small but actually very established because it's been around for a long time. There's a lot of individual attention given by each art professor, and they really care about you and your future. What did you look for while searching for colleges? Um, I was looking for ah, place where I felt like I could have a close knit community. Um, and college that wasn't too big, Um, and also a place where I could be encouraged in my faith as well. What makes the put in different than other schools? Um, I would say that the unique location of Owen and its campus, um, provide an environment that's, um, very close knit, as I said before, but also just a general attitude of caring for each other that you don't see it. What is your favorite thing about, um this may be cliche, but I would say my favorite thing are just the people around me. Um, all the friends Onda relationships that I've worn since I've been here, even with my professors, are very special. Thanks for joining the interviews, and we hope to see you here.
