It should come as no surprise that holding college has once again been recognized for our academic achievement and our unparalleled commitment to our students this year by the U. S. News and World Report and the Princeton Review. We've been recognized as a top 15 best national liberal arts college in new york and recognized as among the top five christian colleges in the Northeast. We've been ranked the number one christian college among top performers on social mobility of national liberal arts colleges and among the top five liberal arts colleges in new york. This is a ranking that has particular significance for us because of our commitment, longstanding commitment to serving a diverse population of students. Houghton has long been known for being a college that reaches out to students from diverse backgrounds and traditions and with different levels of preparedness for coming to college, not just picking off students from the top echelons of academic achievement, but moving students from one place to the next, having transformative impact, not only on the lives of students, but changing the trajectories of families for years and even generations to come. We've also been ranked number one as an A plus school for B students of national liberal arts colleges in new york and number 22 in the nation among liberal arts colleges. Finally, we've been ranked as the best regional college by the Princeton review. These recent recognitions underscore what we've long known about holding college that since our founding, we have existed to serve a socio economically diverse population of students. We've existed to transform the lives of students, equipping them to fulfill their God given potential. Today I'm excited to say that we're doing that not only on the holding college campus in Allegheny County, what we're doing it online and we're doing it through our innovative programs in Buffalo. The need for holding college graduates is greater today than it has ever been before. Polarization is greater in our society and in our communities than it has ever been in my lifetime. The division between factions of people is at an all time high family units are being broken apart. Families continue to erode and whether people realize it or not, they are searching for a savior. There's a christ size hole in their heart that can only be filled by our savior, jesus christ here stands holding college as we've stood for almost 140 years, preparing young people not only for excellence in their respective professions as teachers, nurses, musicians, artists, writers, and data scientists, but even more important, preparing young people to fearlessly lead and labor as scholar servants committed to our first great calling as christians, making disciples of all the nations, baptizing men and women in the name of the father the Son and the Holy spirit friends as much as ever before. So we celebrate this latest recognition of the incredible work that God is doing in and through our students here at Hamilton College and we invite you to discover what could be in store for you at holding May. God bless you and keep you.
