This is the architecture and design media studio. So, everything we teach in here includes a broad range of design and design techniques. You can see as you look around the room that there are a ton of different kinds of art that are being shown. In this classroom, teaching graphic design class where we study things like typography and illustration. Um, at the same time we have a variety of architecture and industrial design classes. We have some models from some students that are working on scale models for these cardboard chairs. In this room We do everything from physical modeling as you can see to use of technology. So, we have a suite of computers over here that run both PC and MAC. They have the most current Adobe Suite for graphic design and illustration tools as well as Rhino or Rhinoceros, which is a 3-D modeling software that we use, as well as, the Fusion 360 which is for industrial design. Um in this room specifically, we do have a laser cutter, which you can see some of these cardboard cutouts, and these kind of models that students have made. They can make quick prototypes with a laser cutter or 3-D printer, here in this classroom, as well as, large format printing. Tons of supplies for students to work with. Our students also connect with the Center for Design across campus for full scale prototyping. So this room is really more for like workshopping ideas and ideation. And the Center for Design across campus is where our students will typically go to do metal work, woodwork, plastics, electronics, and things like that. A lot of those projects come over here while students tinker and work on them. And we also see that we have um some posters on the wall of our event that we have every year called "On Architecture and Design" which is a showcase for seniors who have been focusing on various aspects of architecture and design for the last four years here. It's kind of a feature event for us. It is not only interdisciplinary and that there are students too, a variety of art installations, architectural design, urban planning, graphic design, industrial design, but it's also a Five College Programs. So you'll see students from Mount Holyoke and Amherst College and sometimes Smith, as well as, UMass. So, um, so it's a pretty amazing exhibition that we're able to put together.
