Hi, everybody. Today I have a pretty big adventure planned today. I'm gonna take you guys out with me. On what? It's really like my morning routine. So first stop we're gonna make is the Kern, and then we're gonna go check out the mail room, the Hamp store, and. Then I'll be able to show you guys the library in the airport lounge. But my most exciting part of this video is The Yurt center and interview The R.W. Kern Center is the 17th certified Living Building in the world it generates its own electricity, collects and treats its own water, and it's built with local non toxic and low carbon materials. The Kern is so much fun to study at. They serve coffees and juices and lunch things and bakery things where eating is allowed, which is only in the Kern. Right now, the seats are already spread 6 ft. apart. 95% of Hampshire students receive financial aid and in order for you guys to apply, you have to doFAFSA and the CSS profile. The FAFSA school code is 004661 and the CSS Profile code is 3447 it walking into the mail room. There are news boards on either side that you can always look at. If you want to see what's happening around campus or even around campus, everyone gets their own mailbox. And if you can't figure out the combination lock because it's kind of tricky, the guys behind the window, always willing to help Hamp store is a gift shop, a convenience store and the grocery store all in one. They even have Hampshire stuff, so you can get clothes and bags. The great thing is, you can use your one card, a little swipe or regular money with a credit card or cash. Now that covid kicked in, you can order your course books online and have them delivered to the Hamp store for you picked up. My favorite part about the Hamp store is spending some of the money that you get on your card on sweatpants and sweatshirts. I feel like they make the best gifts to bring back home. Hampshire also has their own brand of honey and maple syrup that you can always find stocks in the Hamp store. Another hidden treasure, the Hamp Store, has is Calypso's, the best juice drinks you'll ever, ever have. Although our library it's pretty historic and has lots and lots of floors with lots and lots of books this year due to Covid, we aren't allowed to go inside to search those shelves ourselves. But we can always call for contactless pick up or email on. Finally, we've made it to the one and the only Yurt radio center. Once you get the training, you get the pass code to this door and you're able to host shows 24 7 as long as you're not infringing on anyone else's show the Yurt houses CDs from previous Hampshire grads records from previous Hampshire grads, and we also keep in archive of everyone that does a radio show if they get permission any time of the year. The yurt is compatible for many different types of shows. You can do a podcast with up to six or seven people. You can do live band playing inside the year with the mixer board, you can play music on the CD player on the record player from your Aux phone from your Aux computer we. Even have one computer dedicated to the recording of each show that happens. I am Luke. I use she/her pronouns. I'm a Div three here at Hampshire College. We are in the Yurt right now, which is Hampshire's very own radio show. It's a really cool space, and people should know more about it. Um, let's see. So what do I do here? I am studying ethnography and creative writing. I am currently doing the project on my hometown in Idaho I am writing a book and making a podcast. I'm really excited about that. I'm going to be, um, playing over the earth. Um, let's see my favorite place on campus. That is a good question. I would probably say either here or I really like the basement in the library. E. Have a green screen room. Really cool they. You can find out more about the you're at Yurt at radiohampshire.edu
