My Internship and Opportunities Gained at Glasgow Caledonian University with Sam
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Whilst at Glasgow Caledonian University, I was afforded a lot of opportunities, one of which was an internship through the blended AIM project. This allowed me to work with an international team of students for a business based in Belgium. During this time I took the role of Project Manager which allowed me to learn SCRUM, which is an agile methodology of working with a team in development and it allowed me to gain real experiences in working with the team, setting tasks that utilises everyone's skills in the best way possible. It also let me gain the soft skills necessary when speaking to clients, CEOs and team members, allowing me to get the best out of myself and them as the project was being completed. Upon the project finishing, I was able to use the experience and the people that I've met as references for applications going forward and it has given me real world experience that I can utilise for jobs going forward. The project itself also gave me a lot of friends, international friends, professors, and students that I now continue talking to, and it has allowed me to increase my network with people that I know and have worked with and giving me another opportunity to ask them further questions or to get further information of how I would get to a place in the job market I would want to get to.
