Hi guys, I'm Sarah, I'm originally from SAn Francisco and I did my undergrad in ST andrews Scotland. Where do I currently live though? Yeah, yeah, I'm actually not on campus at the moment but it's kind of a hybrid thing. So we've had one class almost every that kind of maude that has been in person, which has been really, really cool, assuming you've got to see my classmates, but also still do class from bed occasionally. So what led me to apply to men? Well I did my undergrad and international religions and modern history, so I didn't need any math at all. I quickly discovered when looking at job apps that I may want to learn how to do more than just post on instagram um for social media position or any other position I wanted. So I applied to men so I can get some kind of quant hard qualitative skills and get everything mixed together. So with me and we actually to write essays which is awesome because I love that. Um And we also get to do statistics or micro economics and so I kind of get to blend skills that I felt like I already had solidified with skills that I wasn't a certain with which has been really amazing. I started in august and we remote for the first a little bit of time and then again we have like the one class that was in person which is super cool and I really enjoyed that. I chose this program in particular because I actually wanted to live in D. C. Since I was eight. So for me the idea of getting to live in Georgetown which is actually where my mom lived for 10 years in her twenties and I'm in my twenties now which is too good of an opportunity to pass up. I was also attracted to the incredible faculty that Georgetown has, its global reputation and the fact that I can do all of my really cool business management classes and still attend IR talks at night on the zoom because Georgetown has always organized, that's kind of why I picked Georgetown and maybe this program, my favorite subject thus far in this program is actually one of the classes that we have in person and its strategy. We've gotten to analyze companies that Kodak or Zara and look at ways other than succeeding or ways that they're not doing so well and we get to examine how we would change that if we were working for them, which has been awesome. I remember one time I had a question and I went up to him and I was so lost and I answer this one sort of math, your problem and he explained it in one sentence and suddenly the whole thing made sense to me. I think I've learned just so much in that class and I get really excited because I love prepping the cases beforehand and they can be on anything. I just read one this morning on the airlines, um, and how flights to Vegas are actually impacted by strategy, which is super cool. So I love that in terms of students that thrive in this program, you can see by my very large agenda, my large to do list that people that are very organized, I think probably thrive best in this program. I have a generic week to do list and a daily to do list. Even at the afternoon to do this and I think that's part of it. You have a lot of things coming at you at once and you have to make sure that you're on top of it. So you need to know when all of your finance quizzes are and when all of your micro essays are due and when all of your operations essays we do and have to constantly be on top of that. So I think being really organised is a key part of succeeding in this program. I think someone who's also very social and is willing to meet other people would be really well in this program. I've learned so much from just getting to talk to the kids and that's on zoom. One of my friends really good at finance and I'm very confused finance. So he always brings finance down for me and I'm pretty good at strategy and sometimes he gets confused with strategy. It's that kind of some exchange of information that I think is amazing. It's what makes this particular program at Georgetown such a good program. So I think you have to love a bit of collaboration and also be organized. That's probably what I would say are the two most important things to doing them.
