My name is Ashley Shrivel, and I'm currently a second year executive, M b. A student in McDonald's School of Business. I currently live in Fairfax, Virginia, with a beautiful wife and two amazingly talented, beautiful teenage daughters. Before I go into why I selected Georgetown and especially executive M. B. A program at the McDonough School of Business, let me share a little bit about myself. I was born in Mumbai, India, and I had a bachelor's of instrumentation engineering in India. I always wanted to come to the United States to do my masters. I came as a student in 1993 to pursue my M s in electrical engineering at the University of New Orleans. I studied for 2.5 years, and I worked in New Orleans for a large engineering consulting firm. I moved to Virginia, one of the pivotal moments of my life, working for a global environmental manufacturing company. The company was called Super Inc and we make sensors for monitoring the environment instrumentation, especially air, water and climate. In 2.5 years, I became the VP from an applications engineer of the Projects division. In this role, I was providing environmental monitoring solutions around the world. This allowed me to travel over 90 plus countries and six continents. I was working with governments all around the world poaching them, educating them on climate change, providing good instrumentation systems and also educating them about how to execute successful large projects in the process. It became the VP. I went on The board of directors of Super Inc acquired three different companies, grew our company revenue by 400% and then in 2015 were acquired by Danaher Corporation. Danaher Corporation is a global conglomerate with $20 billion in driving and headquartered in Washington, D. C. While staying in leadership positions under Danaher, I learned that while I had a lot of practical experience, I still needed the skill set to advance in my career. Being part of the journey and Danaher, we acquired three more companies. So then I thought that I wanted to do an NBA. A lot of people were like, Why do you need an NBA? You already worked for Danaher Corporation as an executive. Why would you want to pursue an NBA? But I always wanted to do that because I still have aspirations to grow. I've learned that having an N b. A really differentiates you changes the way you think and your mindset a little bit. I wanted to experience that myself, so I started looking for M B A programs in northern Virginia and especially in the Northeast.
