Georgetown EMBA Academic Experience
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Some of the highlights from an academic standpoint for me were macro economics, advanced strategy and strategic managerial accounting. The professor's across McDonough School of Business and the executive M B A program are committed to excellent and real world experiences and growth, and you can take with you back into the workplace going back to Georgetown's commitment to ethical leadership and business excellence in your one Georgetown Shine, as they not only taught the topics and mechanics related to financial accounting, but they also brought in the reality that in the real world, there's grey areas. When you're in a boardroom character and beliefs and a commitment to who you are and who you are not is at the core of executive leadership a lesson me and my cohort will not soon forget. As we pivot to Year two, you'll have the opportunity to choose an elective route in conjunction with the continuation of core NBA classes. Does that examined my track in my second year? I also enjoyed advanced competitive strategy. Are mergers and acquisitions course and the D any course led by doctor bills in a year where our country and our cities were riddled with turmoil. I felt that I was better positioned and ahead of the curve as it relates to D and I inclusion and actionable items that I can bring back to not only my workplace, but my everyday life. To me, this is a clear competitive advantage to further discussion about academics and what I think That's Georgetown and the McDonough School of Business Executive NBA program apart. I would be remiss if I didn't mention extremely strong, talented and professional female professors that I had the privilege of studying under our foreign market development class and our leadership communication class, both taught by female professors, was, no doubt some of the most valuable lessons that I learned in my two years at Georgetown University. Professor Turner's leadership communication class speaks further to the ability of the professors at Georgetown to be dynamic and on time with their lessons throughout our leadership communications class. Professor Turner pivoted and realized early on that zoom and the digital world and digital economy would be the way of the future. She customized and tailored her class to allow students to better navigate the digital world and to understand the pitfalls that executives would face moving forward into the future. Well, it may be easy to examine or think about the classes that you're best at. My time at Georgetown has taught me to really appreciate and have a greater understanding of the challenges and embrace going outside of your comfort zone.
