So my message for you in this video is really gear for the future students of the Georgetown Executive M. B. A. Program and I'll give you some advice on your applications. Let me start by saying if you are watching this, let me applaud you for making a decision to do an executive M. B. A. My first piece of advice to you is a series of questions ask yourself, can you articulate right now in an elevator pitch style why you are taking this program? Do you think your pitch will be convincing? Imagine someone said those exact reasons to you, Would you think they are ready for this experience? Would you agree with them that they should do it ideally the answers are all yes. If you are crystal clear on why you are doing this program, if you are that persuasive with your delivery, it will be very apparent in your application process. It will resonate with the admissions team and it will make the decision quite easy for them to accept you. So if you haven't done it already, go ahead. Open upward and type of why you are looking to do this program, I'll wait, go ahead Right now. If you do this after this video now, you already have a leg up on your application process. It will give you the beginning why at least a framework for how you want to approach the reasons why you are taking this program and your essays for your application process. My other piece of advice to you is make yourself a part of the community. So you may ask how we'll connect with the admissions to reach out to them. They were incredibly responsive and it will continue to be So they will tell you about events for Georgetown Executive M. B. A. Program. Get togethers, networking events, go to all of them, go to as many as you can go to. Make it a point to chat with everyone that is at every event. Another recommendation is to requests some one on one interactions, reach out to the admissions office and request to talk to them one on one. You can easily stand out if you make the effort to meet one on one Now regarding your essay topic, make it felt by the reader, give them your experience from your lips or near shoes and most importantly celebrate yourself. Give your essay to at least three people who you know well and who love you so that they can feel comfortable being candid with their feedback to you. I know this may be too much, but I myself wrote three essays. Um I wanted to have three options and and I wanted to go ahead and provide those three options to the people whose feedback value. Now surprisingly they all picked the exact same one and it was not the one that was my preference, that would not be the one that I would have submitted had I made the decision completely on my own. Um and I'm so glad that I took their advice and lastly my advice to you is just be yourself, I really want to say to you in the truest sense of it, be your true self, be transparent, be candid whether it is in your writing, your application or if you do take me up on my advice to meet others in person, trust me that your candor will shine through and it will establish a level of trust with the admissions team and again that will stick with them when your application comes up for review. I hope this is helpful to you and if you do decide to go to Georgetown for their executive M. B. A. Program, feel free to reach out. I would be thrilled to be a resource to you during and after the program.
