Prithviraj Sarkar - Why ESMT?
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hi, everyone. My name is Prithviraj and I'm originally from Kolkata, formerly called the City of Joy in India. Well, I did my undergrad in computer science and engineering from my home state before moving to Bangalore where I worked for a brief period of time. For most of my career, I was based in Dubai for about 18.5 years where I worked across multiple companies, and have a background in product management. And before that business analysis. Now let's talk about why I thought I need an MBA at this stage of my career. And that's simply because I thought I reached the stage where I needed some core management education to be able to think more strategically and thereafter hopefully unlock more strategic roles, preferably with the product management space. Moving on to the next big question. Which is why ESMT then, right? So that's for multiple reasons. Firstly, I wanted a full-time MBA experience at the same time. I didn't want to be away from corporate life for a long period of time, which meant I was looking at one year MBA programs, primarily the European business schools, among which the ESMT, of course, is a well-ranked school. It's on the top 10 in Europe and one jump. Secondly, I think ESMT offers a very small, yet diverse cohort which I think facilitates some great interactions, something I greatly value. Thirdly, I think ESMT offers a great mix of management and technology, as the very name of the school suggests, which I thought is a great fit for me personally. Fourthly, I think ESMT has a very flexible mindset. For example, it offers tracks which are pretty nontraditional, as opposed to the traditional tracks such as marketing and finance. ESMT offers tracks such as strategic leadership and entrepreneurship, and innovation and the likes. Last but not least, ESMT is literally a business school started by the business, the likes of McKinsey and Bosch on the top 25 Corporates, which makes the ESMT very special in the mind. So that in a nutshell is why I thought ESMT will be the best fit for me.
