Right now I'm going to interview my buddy Oh, in here. So first of all, tell us who you are and what's your major? Well, I am a person. I could Anderson calling time in the writing, literature and publishing department. Current doing going towards a B A. I'm I think I'm going to switch to B F A trap. How would you describe the student body here ever since I think the student body here at Emerson. I think it's a lot of people who are who are very who loved toe work, who really loved to challenge themselves and to take on a lot of tasks and and really sort of pushed themselves produces much as they can. No, I think we're all really, really hard working and all really sort no commit, committed to to becoming artists who could do things practically not just sort of sort of theoretical usher. Don't don't fall prey to the Emerson myth of the Emerson student who does fifty billion things and sleep. I'm not a good thing we don't wear telling you. Do the things you don't compare yourself to other people. Well, you know, I I'll just say, like, here's the thing. When you end up comparing yourselves to yourself to people, like, understand that it's not that that you don't need to understand, there's that there's more to sort of who you are. If you're here, you're here for a good reason. Yeah, like you're here because you deserve help. Me and I'll be ableto you're on personal marriage yourself, Palin. Well, the thing is, when I think it's really cool, Major, I think is is that you know is that it's writing literature and publishing, and, you know, with a lot of schools, you get Oh, it's the English department creative writing and and it's and it's either sort of like two Broad or or to specific here were very, very sort of life, got these three sort of sections, and you you're required to, like, get into all of them and you have access to all of them. You learn you learn how to write Well, you learn how to had a sort of read literature. You know what the publishing industry is like and what what that involves love. I think that prepares you not only for being like a great sort of creative and two T, but also being able to actually like function in the real world and like in terms of like, having a job. A lot of times we don't get talking That, like, your practical stuff ever since Yeah. So also in why did you choose Emerson? Um, boy, I mean, first person and the honest program. I have to and have tuition, this grave stop of but in terms of, like, more sort of personally for me, I chose a chosen person because I thought first of all, I thought, you know, I thought it would have prepared me for having an actual career. Like I was saying, Like like, I thought it was really get me to a place where I was able to to not just be like an artist, but to actually be able to be a functioning profession. Hey, Oh, and I also family and also and also be able to lose things and also be able to do what I love. It seemed eso won because of that too, because really sort of challenge me and push me in a lot of ways. Also because the community here seemed like it be released, suited to my personal sort of loves. I also know when What is your favorite part of Emerson? And then what is your least favorite part and my favorite part of Emerson. You positive people are so continuing paper part these for your party. I think my favorite part of Emerson is sort of how many wonderful opportunities you get at the school, that they're just somebody's angry ways to get into things, Mom and and to me, people and t build a supportive environment for yourself. Yes, well, like, you know, find ways to do your art and also be surrounded by people who care. Those who think that I'm missing in terms of my least favorite part, you know that the lots of opportunity things is a double edged sword. Sometimes there's too many opportunities, and it's hard, especially for people like guys, you know, just to say no stuff and and to turn stuff down. The other thing about everything that that sometimes is hard is, you know, very a lot. A lot of the people here are very soon passionate, and sometimes that manifest itself. You know, there's a lot of political activism campus. There's a lot of no emphasis on diversity, which which are wonderful things. There can also be a lot of a lot of cases where it can sometimes feel like an echo chamber of certainty as the guys. Honestly, there's a lot of people on my personal views, you know, like like like I'll believe a certain thing. You know, I'll leave and I'll be completely out of touch with with Sort of what? What sort of other views exist in the world? I think it's important to be aware of other people. Think, even if you don't necessarily definitely so guy.
