Hi. My name is Lizzie Friedman, and I'm going to be taking you on a tour of the ins and outs of Drugs University. I'm current freshman at Drexel, studying Entertainment and Arts Management, which is located in the West Wall School of Media Arts and Design. I am originally from New Jersey, Uh, but now I live in Philadelphia and I love the city here. So that's why I really love Drexel Exits right in Philly, where you can find all of the arts and all of the culture and everything. I've really grown to love field if he has a city. Drexel's located in the university City, which is right across the bridge from Center City. Um, and in University City, it's called University City for a reason. Because Drexel is right here and also right across the street. We have, um, you pen otherwise known as the University of Pennsylvania, which is a really great school. We also have a lot of smaller campuses located throughout the city. I'm gonna be taking you through buildings showing you true life as a student here at Drexel. I have only been here for a little while, but a little while I'd expect here has been really, really terrific. I am a part of the Performing Arts ensemble, which is a group that you can audition for a scholarship you can get as well, which is also very great. Um, and I spent a lot of time doing performing arts here, which is really fun. It's very big on engineering and business and things like that. The arts program is also very great here, kind of little not known too well. It's really open, coming and progressively gets better and better every single year. Drexel works on on nontraditional kind of schedule instead of the semester schedule you see at most colleges, drugs works on a quarter system instead of two fifteen week terms. So you have fall winter and spring on this week that I will be touring when filming Drexel for you is the first week of spring term. Drexel, I like to say, doesn't make sense at all, but makes so much sense of the same time. So since everyone's used to the more semester kind of style, it doesn't seem like it makes sense. Once you're actually living in it and you understand it like it makes so much sense because it really does go with the calendar year. So it really follows like the fall solstice, like equinoxes and solstices, you know. So whenever false starts, that's when fall term starts forever. That's one winter charm strides whenever the spring season starts. That's when spring storms, spring term starts and the same thing with somebody. Yeah, and it's ten weeks, not including finals week. Um and yeah, every single time that you go out for a break like winter break spring break, anything about you come back to Brandon classes. So it does create this kind of like need toe always be like fast moving because the classes do move very fast cause you learn ah, lot of stuff in a very little time. So here you have to be really committed to your academics, which I think is great because, you know, you're not just here like in a class for fifteen weeks, like droning on and on. You know, you, like, kind of get to the point and you will learn what you need to learn, and it's really great. It's not huge campus, but since we are in a city kind of this spread out throughout the city like buildings are kind of sporadically apart. You'LL see that when I walk around campus with you guys, Um but so it seems like a fairly large campus. If you really like, think about it and condense all of our buildings into, like a smaller radius like it really is not that big. I am going to get more into depth with everything, uh, throughout these next few videos, and I hope that they help you a lot in your college application and deciding if you like Drexel or not. I personally love it and would recommend it to anyone who is considering it. I think that, like, you know, this is my place, and I think that It could be your place too, if you really like it. So you stick around with me for a glass of this tour.
