I'm coming to you again from Davison College campus to talk to you a little bit about classroom culture home. So I posted a video that essentially did a little walk through a pretty much one of every type of classroom that Davison has to remain academic buildings, wall and chambers. There's other academic places, but you're gonna have most classes in there. The two buildings that showed you, Um, but beyond, just like what the class ones look like. Classes here relatively small, ranging from like six 5 to 6 people to like 30 max 30 max, which is significantly less than at other schools where they could be like a the 102 100 people in the class. There are no classes bigger than 30 unless it's like 31 because they, like, raised the cat a little bit. All your professors are gonna know you by name and by face, and they'll probably know you based on your word. Because Davis and his good forgiven rule individualized works like essays and stuff they've read, um, they take the time to get to know you and your processes and all of this stuff if you give them the chance. Um, there any type of experience that you don't get in the classroom, you could always get in office hours. Like I think of that, I personally learned better with 101 experiences. When I was taking Cal, I was taken cow. The tutoring centers Army a lot, but also, my professor saw me a lot because office hours they're set up to, like, have set hours. If you can't make those hours their appointment based. So I was always in one of the other because passing it was necessary. Um, I feel like he's really easy to have a good relationship with your professor because they're just so available and he's been outside of office hours. You're gonna see them around campus because Dave, the town of Davis and around their stuff to do there's not stuff. Well, there's like you could see them out in about, um so, yeah, there's that. I was like, What? The professor's here really cool. Well, the professor's of mod apart Momus owes major sociology major. Anyway, the sociology department professors are pretty cool there. Now I'm on in all classes that, like the professions number, really like one of my professors now was just telling me the other day about how she remembers me coming into her classes, a freshman. That's how I like close people can be here is really easy, especially after you choose a major. The classes might be bigger when you're undecided because you're taking classes that anybody can be rolled him like communications. Wanna one? Anybody take that? It might be 1/3 person class, probably still 15 but he could be 1/3 person glass. Um, even then, the professor's gonna know your name. She realized my nation, but then they I was quiet, too. So that just goes to show that they pay attention to you. Because I sat in a corner and I was quite Oh, but then as you move on new declare major and decide where you want to be on campus. The professor is in you're like area are definitely gonna know you. It's not heart then for other professors that they get along What to know you. Because professors talk about you two talk about students. That's how you walk into a classic like, Oh, I heard great things about you or heard interesting things about you were gonna challenge this semester type thing because they talk. That's why um well, yeah, I don't think that we have like there. I don't think Davison is a lecture style class. There's some classes that are like that, but in my experience, only had class like that when they were like, attached to a general education requirements like biology or history. Every other class has been like a combination of lectures and group discussion like community engagement and stuff like that, like we have to actually go to the community and engage with the community to figure out handle a project or something like that. So they're really like That might just be because I'm a social major, which is why I had those type of things. Yeah, that's what I have for you in this video. So stay tuned for other videos coming in the future.
