It's Margaret coming to you live from Davis in college. In this video, let me tell you my one big piece of advice that I think have been helpful to me when I came to Davis, and it might be helpful to anybody looking to go to Davison. It is really just to be open minded because Davison is a very leg and as much as it's not die versus the lists in some way so late. Culture shock is a thing even for people coming from like very privileged backgrounds are gonna be people, events, foods, things that you just never no about what I've been around as much. So being open minded is really important in being able to navigate these spaces for all these things exist in like navigating, like How did you collaborate with people who are over different culture from you? And like, not like putting the divide? This I think something that home we deal with a lot of campus being in being that we're in North Carolina is that there's a whole lot of things that go on in terms of politics that the school doesn't necessarily like agree with, but we still have, like to make us. They make a space but leave space for people who believe in those things. Like, um, laws that come out about, like what we should do about bathrooms and all these things are happening around us laws of being made around us that affect the campus, Blake and Anna students and for us learning how to whether we came from like a liberal or conservative background, being able to navigate the spaces in a way this respect others without putting down people and their believes because everybody has a space on this campus. Everybody belongs on this campus if they're here and making everybody feel that way, but also not feeling like like you don't belong because you are like one or a handful off a certain group or whatever it is that Rube is with this race based religion. Based on gender based any other thing, you'll probably find your niche group click. Realizing that you don't have to only exist within, I click because Old Campus for is for you to explore was something that I I would have liked to have been told. It was something I eventually found out, but the first few we've come. The Davison culture shock was crazy because I went to a predominantly black high school. While I've been like in programs with, like, more people, it was not as many and as long term is like colleges. That in, like, the culture shock of having to figure out what I was gonna do in terms of things like, Hey, you, she continues every day can't eat fries every day. Culture shocking that not only was I like doing things on my own now, but I was also doing things on my own, with brand new people in a brand new space, branding everything. I think that I would have been told Younger market to be more reminded and don't work things off is quickly. Just just experienced some things and then make a decision about after you've taken time to process and, like, critical of it, not like just topically like, Oh, I don't like that cause it's different, but give it, give it time like sinking above. It's a little different than what I'm used to, but it's still helpful and good. Anybody considering coming to Davis, you should come here cats awhile.
