I am a senior in fashion design at the Columbus College of Art Design. If you know me, you know, that's very hard for me to dio. I'm just doing kind of a day in the life of a fashion design student here at C c d. It might be a little bias because it's me and not just any fashion design student today. It's almost 11 e. I'm going thio Starbucks to get some coffee. I usually get a grand, but lately I've been getting mentees um and oh, my God. See? It's just it's so good you get a little sip of that phone with the top and then I kind of like, start mixing around so, like, it doesn't just, like, go away after a few sips. We're gonna head back to DSB at C c. A D. Alright, writer stance. We're here back on campus at C c d. I have my coffee and all my stuff and I'm going in now. Ah, lot of our schools architectures inspired by bad house. So you can see in our building right here, Ken Zanni as well as these apartments for campus and crane. First way are on the second floor of the fashion department of the fashion wing, if you will. Hi. E truly can't believe I'm a senior now. Um, but it is so cool being a senior and doing collection. Despite the pandemic circumstances, we were able to work out that seniors are allowed in the studio, so work on stuff. Seniors have a collection that you, um, kind of create all year. Have Ah you know, hypothetically in a normal world, we have a fashion show in May and we get Thio. I've you been to a show in the past? I worked backstage. I'm trying thio, um, kind of get all my measurements in place. We have to make blocks that basically fit the form and we make tweaks and adjustments to kind of get the measurements correct and see how we can manipulate these to turn into a design that we have. Back on a different day, I forgot to mention a few things. Um, in regards Thio some scholarship opportunities I've had from C C 80 as well as job opportunities through the school and, um, kind of my hard work and what I put into it. Well, my sophomore year, I did a big case study for the Y M a fashion scholarship fund, and, uh, they are established in New York City. They have a select amount of schools throughout the country that they lead students. Um, participate and, uh, you know, try out for the scholarship every year. Um, you have Thio have this, like, really nice idea concept. My sophomore year, I won as well as a few other friends in my school, and we got to go to New York City and be awarded at a gala. A scholarship more recently would be the Fashion Week. Every year, my school in the fashion department, they award one of the seniors this award from the Fashion Week Columbus panel. The seniors each year are selected based on kind of their concept for their collection, and this year I was picked, and I'm so grateful and so excited to participate. I'm sitting here editing this video, and I realized how often I say, um, I'm so sorry. I got Thio actually become an intern, and I was so excited. Obviously, because of the pandemic, it got postponed to August for two weeks. Um, it was so much fun now I literally loved every aspect of it. Um, it was just the best thing I met the coolest people from all around the country, and, um, it was just it was such an honor. Starting after graduation, I will be working full time at Abercrombie and Fitch for apparel design, and I'm literally I like I couldn't be more happy. Honestly, Every day and every week here at C C. D is different. Other weeks it's like one thing after another, back to back and it gets so stressful. You make the best friends and you have, like, really cool networking opportunities. I'm just super excited Thio continue my last year and see where things go. See where life takes me, See where all my friends ago It's just super exciting And yeah, I hope you enjoy this video.
