Classes at Columbia
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
So as I should have said in my video, where assured your classroom classes Sizes are pretty small in Colombia generally, unless you're in a large lecture class s. Oh, that's really nice. None of my classes are above twenty, twenty two people, but of course, you're gonna have the larger lecture halls, which are hundreds of people. I know for the intro math classes like calculus and for the stock interest, science classes and coding classes. All of those are my chair halls, and all of those have a great deal of students. A lot of the core classes at Columbia are also very small. My literature class is about twenty people and my writing class about fifteen people. So even the generals at Columbia are very small on, so the core classes, which are the Jets out here I come, are very strict. Every student has to take the same core classes at the same time. So as a freshman, I have to take a literature, classical literature, humanity's where we read a lot of different books, just very fast pace to this semester, and that's actually two semesters along. I also have to take a writing class called University Reading, which is very intensive writing, and that's one semester and next semester I'm going to have to take frontiers of science. There are many requirements to the core, which all students have to complete to graduate. One very interesting one is you actually have to pass the swimming test to graduate. Of course, you can be excused from this if you need to be with a doctor's note. I think one of the interesting characteristics of Colombia's court. There are many of these courses, which you have to take throughout all four years at Columbia, including the language requirement and something called the Global Core. So it's definitely very pervasive and academic culture, and I really enjoy it because it makes me look at a wide variety of disciplines. It's also difficult to plan your schedule around it with your major as well, so that is certainly a hindrance to my schedule.
