Hi I'm joe Pentangelo. I graduated from CS. I. In 2012 I majored in english with a concentration in linguistics. What I learned as a linguistics major at C. S. I was really helpful for me in my current career. I'm a postdoctoral research associate with the Macaulay Honors College CUny and I'm also an adjunct assistant professor here at C. S. I. A lot of my work involves writing arctic and doing research and those are skills that I really got to perfect as a student in the english department at C. S. I. Also right after graduating went to the CUny Graduate Center for a PhD program in linguistics building right on the stuff that I learned doing linguistics and english at C. S. I. And I finished my doctorate in 2020 and very shortly after that I became a postdoc doctoral researcher at the Macaulay honors College. So if it weren't for the linguistics program and the english program were broadly at C. S. I. I certainly would never have gone that route. And being at C. S. I. And being in the english department there really gave me the opportunity to explore my interests and to explore basically what I was good at and what kind of research I wanted to do. And it really shaped the path that my life has taken ever since.
