I'm a teacher at PS 18 in West Brighton and this program is so important because everything the community needs is already there. So all the talent we need is already there and all of these agencies and programs can come together for the betterment of the kids. It just works. You have to know what's there. Hi, my name is Lou Bruschi. I'm the principal of Dreyfus Intermediate school 49 in Stapleton Staten Island uh, school with high needs in a community that struggles in some ways. But uh program here at College of Staten Island for a doctor in Education is very important because so much of the work we do as school leaders or I should say, as community leaders really requires us to be connected to all the different touchpoints that support our students and support our communities. I think one of the unique aspects of this program is the focus that we have, not just on schools but on schools and communities and everything that is part of the ecosystem that impacts a child. If you are the type of person who is looking to make some real change and to tell a story that is different from the narrative that we hear right now about education and educational reform, then you are the person for this program.
