Hey, guys, how's it going? So I decided I would make a video to talk about campus safety. So let's talk a little bit about, you know, General Campus Health and Campus Safety. How centers on East West Street directly across from campus. Um, I went there last semester during the winter, like I had a really bad cold, so I went over there and they're really nice and really helpful. So if you have any prescriptions that you need filled while you're here on campus, you can send those prescriptions to the Falcon pharmacy and then just walk across the street and pick it up S so that's really nice and convenient. If you were to have a medical emergency while you're here on campus, the Wood County Hospital is five minutes away for people who are allergic to certain foods. Milk, peanuts, extreme nuts, you know, stuff like that, and it's kind of blocked off. So we don't have any, you know, food contamination for our people who have allergies. You know, whatever the case may be so about campus safety. Um, they say you can be just about anywhere on campus and be able to see at least one on, and they are like everywhere. So if you were to have an emergency while you're walking on campus, you hit that button and campus police will be there within Ah, ninety seconds. So if you're walking alone at night and you don't really have an emergency, but you don't really feel that comfortable, you can call a number and a B G s u ah, licensed car. We'll come and pick you up and drive you to, you know, wherever you need to go. Um, and it's free for students to you, so that's also really nice and makes us feel really safe. A small loop around campus, the Balkan Express, Ah, large loop around campus, which is the orange mane. We have the Blue South, which runs to campus apartments in the Green East, which runs to campus apartments. Which freshman can have their cars on campus If you don't have your car on campus, you can take the green line to Meyer if you need groceries. Um, and the university also offers a lot like a lot of free self defense. We also have we have a couple different initiatives on campus to fight issues that arise in a lot of colleges in the United States. So we have not in our town, which was an initiative started a couple years ago to stop targeted hate discrimination, bigotry? Um, it kind of encapsulate all of the different. People of different religions, people of different races, ethnic backgrounds, you know, stuff like that. Um, and they work tio fight that targeted hate on campus. We also have the step up step in initiative, which is to help fight sexual assault on campus. They have ambassadors that you can report sexual assault, um, or sexual misconduct to they could help you. So for residents hall safety, we have a resident advisor who is going to be, you know, looking out for any illegal activity that's going on in the residence halls, huh? You know, illegal substances and underage drinking are obviously not allowed in the residence halls. Every residence hall has front doors and side doors. So the front doors are open from the hours of seven a. M to midnight, and anyone could just walk in. Um, we also have side doors during the hours of seven a. M and midnight. Uh, also after midnight, uh, the side doors, they're going to lock completely so no one can get in the side doors and the front doors lock so that you can only get in with your pet. Then after midnight, you know, you pet in through only the front door, and then you have to go up to the desk present, Your student, I d they're going to verify that you live there. Um, And then after you've been cleared, you can go up to your room s o. I'm really short, and I'm also a woman. I have, you know, you try to, like, take the bus or walk home with someone else. You know, there has been a couple times that I have walked alone on campus at night. I can honestly honestly say that I have never felt unsafe on campus literally, ever. I'm not just saying that it's a very safe campus. No walk in the street lights and, um make sure you're in, like, General like view and like an open space. Like you probably shouldn't be there anyway at night, huh? So But I feel like a big Jessie was generally a very, very safe campus. That's a really great resource, especially for incoming freshmen who were adjusting to college life. The B, G s u campus police and the BGS. You city police are really friendly. Um, campus safety is something that I feel like P gs you does really well.
