What is MY HUSKY?
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
My name is Kelsey, Larry, and I'm a senior at Bloomsburg University and the Social Work Department. In this video, I'm going to be talking to you guys about one of the platforms slash websites that are university uses to give students full access to all the resources that they need when being a college student enrolled at Bloomsburg And that website is called my Husky. So this is where the students will use their email and password that they use for everything to log on and have access to a lot of resources. This isn't where they will find their course materials and things for in their classes. It's more of the side of student information and services, so I'm going to talk about all of those things in the rest of this video. So the top two tabs on my husky that I find most important are academics that you see here and enrollment. That is where you can see your academic advisor. So whether you have declared your major or undeclared, regardless, you will have an academic advisor, and this is a professional faculty and staff member of Bloomsburg University that helps you with scheduling your classes and making sure you're getting your credit set up and fulfilling your general education goals to graduate and earn your degree, which is super important that you were in contact with that person so that your understanding and making sure that you're on track to graduate when you want to graduate from there. You can also view your unofficial and official transcripts by contacting this adviser and getting them here through your husky sink so that you can see your grades. You can see your G P A and be able to attach that to a resume. If you're applying to a job in your hometown and they want to know how you're doing in college, or if you're a senior level and trying to apply to internships and so on, you can find that transcript right here so that second most important tab would be enrollment. So the reason why this is so important is you have to talk with that academic advisor. Make sure you're taking all your general education courses to fulfill your degree, making sure you're taking the classes that are required, like introductory to social work. I have to take that course before I can take the rest of the social work courses. So my professor is going to help me enroll in those. I'll set up a planner of what classes I know I need to take. Then for each semester when it comes to scheduling, I can find my enrollment date here, which is based off of how many credits you learned so far. Then I will add classes to my shopping cart so that on my enrollment date, I can press, enroll and get myself put into the classes that I need to take. That all happens here, and you can add drop and swap classes to say the time of day doesn't work for you. You get a job during your studies at Bloomsburg, and you need a different schedule. You can add and drop and adjust all that stuff right here in your house. So here are two more tabs that are super important for students, and that is your finances and financial aid. So if you ever oh, any outstanding charges or get charged for, like your online textbooks through a class that will show up here and any of your tuition bills and what you are at the beginning of the semester is going to all be here, so you know how much your semester and everything is going to cost. So then you can ask for student loans in the university has a link here under financial aid to go find and apply for student loans to fill out fast performance for financial aid. All that is right here, accessible for students and then under your finances. Tab is where you can find out what loans you've taken out, how much, what year for what semester. Our university keeps track of all that information. It is easily accessible, right on your my husky account. On top of that, there are the tax forms for that and where you can see all history on any textbook or any fee or anything that you have paid for. Under these tabs for your account, which is super helpful and accessible for you and your family. They can find their class schedule here as well any information on those classes and if there's any forms or update of their home address, emergency contacts or their address on and off campus and so on that always updated through their student information and services on the my Husky website. Now, if the students are looking for their class information content, um, text, books, papers, instructions, syllabi and so on, that is a different website called Boat, which you can go visit my other video about boat here on campus.
