PART 1 High School vs College
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
So I'm gonna talk about one of the most important things for students. That is the difference between high school and college. You kind of get used to it and start to adjust with time management skills. Got a planner live by your planner, Get a white board, get sticky notes and stick them all for your stuff. Whatever it takes for you to remember to do your things and to clock out in time your day do what you gotta do. That is something I learned is I say OK, I have an hour between this class and when I have to work or an hour between classes, I'm gonna sit and work on this little mini homework assignment that way later this evening, all I have to do is focus on a paper. A couple of days later, I began to realize, What do I have between the due date of that paper and today what's important first, um, so don't procrastinate that way. So if you have an assignment due tomorrow, you need to do it before you do something to do four days from now, that type of thing where whatever has the most important second is classes actually rotate day. So you'll have classes Monday, Wednesday, Friday for an hour and then Tuesday Thursdays for an hour and 15 minutes. Some classes We have later evening classes that are two or three hours long. I'm only once or maybe twice a week, so it all depends, and that also jumps in on the speed part. So if you're assigned a homework assignment in your Monday class, it's not due until Wednesday. So you can say, Hey, I have an exam Tuesday morning. I can wait to do that homework time until Tuesday evening. So Monday night you spend time studying for Tuesday Tuesday you do the homework for once that you have that like extra day to get things done on, which is a little easier. It's also difficult because, um, test cover more information. In one week, you can finish a whole chapter or two chapters at that it all depends on the rate. The information Hala professor wants you to learn it, what they want you to actually know from that chapter. That's what it's critical the second you show up to class, it's really critical, because, especially for the classes that air three hours long and only once a week, if you miss that class like there's like probably two or three chapters of work because they have a whole book and list of lecture plans that they have to teach. They only have a limited amount of time a week to get through that. There's a lot more work in college outside the classroom than there is in high school. In high school years, teachers would say, I'm gonna give you the last 20 minutes of class to do homework. Sometimes when professors get through the lecture quick, you do get that boat is 10 minutes of your day and trust me, we all love that. For a lot of the time it's your professors say Hey for Wednesday and Friday is class. It's important that you read Chapter five because we're gonna be covering in class and then cover the highlights that they want you to know for the exam. You have to read the details prior to that class and going over that way you can understand and ask the professor questions during clock.
