My Major and I (Speech Language Pathology)
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
So this video is a quick video about why I chose my major owned. I'm Emma Almost be signs pathology and audiology major with a man in special Ed s o. The reason why I picked my major is when I was a sophomore in high school My, um, Academy for Education Teacher. Had a guest speaker come in and she was a speech pathologist, and basically she gave us like an hour presentation about what she does, what her career is about. I always thought, I want to be a teacher until she gave her presentation, I instantly and I mean instantly fell in love with everything that she had to offer and everything that she said about speech back. That just sparked my interest so much that I ended up doing an internship with her for two summers. I did a bunch of clinical observations at a nursing home over this past summer. I even saw an audiologist, which was really, really interesting, too, because they go hand in hand. I took a major because it was just something different that could give me a teaching side as well as a medical side which I've always been so interested in. I'm a very science kind of technology person, and I'm always talking. So I think that kind of goes hand in hand with being a speech therapist. I hope one day that I can have my own private practice. First, where where I conjoined companies and then they ship me out to like, different locations so I can go help people, which would be so cool, because I really like traveling too. So I think that would kind of be an interesting way to get my feet on the ground in my field. I'm currently a sophomore, so I'm going to start my clinical observation hours next semester, which I'm really looking forward to is Well, so I just get to learn more about my field and everything that it has to offer to. Um but I definitely highly suggest if you are interested in becoming a teacher, maybe you don't know like the specifics about what grade you wanna be or what department you want to be in. You need to maintain a really good G p A. You need to have a good amount of credits. It might take you summer classes that might take you winter classes. Did it just be on track? You Maybe I'm not always the best like scholar in the sense that it's a lot. It takes a lot for me to study, but I've been working so so hard, and I know that anyone could potentially work as hard as long as they want it. Um, so I'm just really excited to just start like honestly, I wish I could describe the weight and then go to grad school in the bank. Look, I'm out in the field, but I know it's gonna take a little bit of work, but just know it's just highly competitive, and, um, why I came The Bloomsburg was because he was one of the top in P I in one of the top in the nation's and I'm from Jersey and they didn't really have a lot of speech schools. So this just felt right for me and I love the program here. They do such a wonderful job to keep all their students updated, and it's just a really great place to pay. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me. I can let you know anything about speech pathology or even connect to you with someone at Bloomsburg to talk to you more about speed. Everyone has a great day, and I'll see you later.
