Dear Freshmen Emma
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
If I were a freshman again or what I would tell my freshman self today. So when I was a freshman, I just really wanted to branch out and meet a lot of people. Usually when you're a freshman, you kind of form in tow, having just like some specific friends, maybe not reaching out as much as you would hope. So I was in this one friend group, and it really wasn't the most positive friend group that I could have potentially had. Um, so I would just say that for a freshman self me branch out, meet new people, keep your door open and keep your mind open to always just know that the possibilities of friends are endless, and as long as you're nice to someone, you could potentially make a friend just like that. So I would definitely say keeping your options open and not just sticking to the same general friends that you have can always branch out. You can always branch out and be different and have different people in your life, which is always a really cool thing to do, especially when you're at college, because there are so many different people from so many different places coming together to learn. So it's just a really cool way to meet new people and be a part of something different rather than just sticking with the same group of friends. Um, and now I have a really, really great group of friends very different from my freshman year, and I'm just so happy with them. I don't really, really hard time doing this last year and doing this when I was in high school. Um, but I would definitely say that freshman he caught on to that very quickly and now is a sophomore. I get my work done the second it's assigned to me. So whether it's like a class in the morning, I'll get it done that night. So doing your work on time is important because it allows you to have more relaxing free time for yourself. So you're not struggling the night before to get a five page paper done that's due in four hours or do the next day. That's not fair to your body, your mind or yourself. So doing your work on time, I think, is really important aspect of college. Don't let things slip and make sure you keep track of them. Number three Love Yourself, Freshman Me and down and so forth from lower grades struggled with self love, self positivity, and it takes a lot to find that. Surrounding yourself with a great group of people, such as my admission staff and such is my friend group now and everyone that I have in my life my family, my supporters. They were able to help me see why I should love myself and why I should be proud of accomplishments that maybe I didn't get tau focus on as much. Loving yourself is important because self love is something that lets you grow and let you know as individual that you have yourself. You have your mind, you have your body and no one else can change it. You you're gonna people help you and support you and make sure that they're there for you, because having a great support system is another thing that just lift yourself up. Being there for yourself and accepting mistakes in accepting lessons for yourself is really important. So freshman me love yourself because you struggle with that last year, and now you're confident and you should be for the rest of your life. It's really hard to not do that because you're always seeing people when you're in the class of people and maybe they got a better grade than you. Or maybe they did something better than you want a project. That shouldn't be a reason to put yourself down. That should be a reason to be like all right, like I'm gonna do as well as they did, or I'm gonna get an A on my next test or I'm gonna study harder or do something different to better myself rather than being You know what they did better than me like I can't do that anymore. Like No, don't compare yourself to other people, whether it's in grease, their looks, their personality, anything because you are you and you need to focus on that. I think that was before anyways, don't compare yourself because it's just important to have a good mind set for yourself and to understand that you could always be better than the day that just passed. Comparing yourself doesn't allow you to move forward. You wanna launch yourself forward, so seeing the good things that other people do should inspire you to do those good things or go B of A and B go above and beyond those things. Something that my dad and mom have told me every single night since I was a baby before I went to sleep is keep your mind right. Simple is that having a right mindset and having a clear conscience in your head allows you to do new things to be open to new things. Keeping your mind right just allows you to feel better, whether it's you being better for your friends, being better for your family, just having a clear conscious in a clear mind and keeping it right. Having a wrong mind, we could make mistakes. You know, learning lessons is always important, but you never want to go down the wrong path. So keeping your mind right, I will say it, too, the day I die that that is probably my number one thing freshman member. Um, but keeping your mind right is really important, and I'll forever do so you know, because I wouldn't want to disappoint mom and Dad, so yeah,.
